MemberMothra LarvaeApr-24-2014 6:06 AMThis question is for those who have seen the Wondercon footage. Well, when the tsunami enters the city, i noticed that some people enter a store, close the door, and then not a single drop of water enters the store. Is this possible, or is it a mistake?

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-24-2014 8:20 AMSome water does start shooting though the seal of the door, I thought the same thing on the first copy I found but the next one I saw it was clearly there. I don't know if it's enough to look convincing, but they were smart to chose a place with a door which opens outwards onto the street.

Also, leaks like the one we saw in the footage allow for a certain alleviation of pressure after a while and it prevents the glass from shattering. What you get is a window of opportunity to get to the top of the building before the lower floors are flooded.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-24-2014 9:42 AMidk, im not sure, since hawaii is very surrounded by water, if they had built their structure with floods/tsunamis in mind (tsunami proof i guess), thus the glass not cracking, because you'd think it start cracking with a tsunami like that.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-24-2014 10:34 AMIsn't this nitpicking? I mean, I'm no engineer by any stretch, but the water's not deep enough to have enough pressure to crack glass at that depth. Plus, the water's direction is not causing it to crash up against it, it's coming in at a side angle.
