The King of the Monsters
MemberMothra LarvaeSep-30-2014 12:15 PMI'm not sure, but some of the more obscure Toho kaiju films can be found for free on YouTube. War of the Gargantuas actually comes pretty cheap on DVD in most video stores in a double pack with Rodan, but I haven't seen an official release of Space Amoeba anywhere.

MemberMothra LarvaeSep-30-2014 12:16 PMWhile it is not neccesarily free, Netflix has all of these and more.

Indeed if you don't get the DVDs, that is a problem. Unless the links to watch these films online are from a legal source we can not give you links on this forum as it does not support illegal means to watch these films. Best I can do is point you to really cheap means to buy the DVDs online.
Sorry.

MemberMothra LarvaeSep-30-2014 1:51 PMWar of the Garganatuas is on iTunes for $9.99. $2.99 to rent. Oddly its listed under Godzilla: War of the Gargantuas

MemberMothra LarvaeSep-30-2014 2:09 PM^ It's all about the marquee value.

AdminGodzillaSep-30-2014 3:10 PMWar of the Gargantuas / Rodan DVD is $6.99. I mean, is $7 really that much for two movies? Not to mention it's a pretty solid release from Classic Media, one of the best distributors of the series.
The King of the Monsters
MemberMothra LarvaeSep-30-2014 3:15 PMAgreed. It comes with two movies, with both the original Japanese and English versions, and some nice special features as well. Plus, where I live it sells for about $4.

AdminGodzillaSep-30-2014 4:43 PMAdmittedly, Space Amoeba is outrageously priced due to Media Blasters' shenanigans.
The King of the Monsters
MemberMothra LarvaeSep-30-2014 4:54 PMI take it that's why their Frankenstein vs. Baragon DVD is so expensive too. I really hope movies like The Mysterians, Gorath, Atragon, and Matango get affordable Region 1 DVD releases at some point because Tokyo Shock's prices for them are jacked. Mill Creek Entertainment already picked up Mothra, Battle in Outer Space, and H-Man, so it's possible they will release some of those movies, albeit in rushed bargain-bin form, at some point.

MemberBaragonSep-30-2014 5:11 PMYeah, all of these DVD's have been out of print for years... except War of the Gargantuas, which is insanely easy to get.
For the other titles, like Space Amoeba, this is the best I can do:

AdminGodzillaSep-30-2014 5:20 PMEvery so often a batch of Media Blasters backlog is found and the price lowers. I bought Frankenstein Conquers the World for pretty cheap last year when a new heap of copies were uncovered.
But Danzilla's right. They've been deemed out of print since Media Blasters only produces so many copies.
Also I can't speak for that site's legitimacy Danzilla. Is this something that needs to be posted on the public forum?

MemberBaragonSep-30-2014 5:25 PMThe site above is one I've used many times, and I've even visited their physical storefront in Chicago. The owner is trustworthy, and its the place to go for filmsthat are out of print, or haven't been released here at all, like Gorath and The Magic Serpent. I can remove the link if is is a problem.

AdminGodzillaSep-30-2014 5:33 PMI'll allow it for the time being, especially if you've visited the physical store. Although it doesn't say much, they seem to have avoided Toho so far.

AdminGodzillaSep-30-2014 5:35 PMMake sure you PM it to AwsomeJaijuFan in case I decide to pull it. I likely will to be safe.
The King of the Monsters
MemberMothra LarvaeSep-30-2014 5:37 PMThe Magic Serpent?! That movie is hard to get in the U.S.? Wow, I got it almost ten years ago in a double feature with Gamera vs. Gyaos. Maybe it's gone out of print since then.
