Why no scores yet for Godzilla on Rotten Tomatoes?

It has came in.... It is currently at 55%

I thought it was at 58%. Huh

56 now. Looks like we're in for a colossal dud. Hey Legendary tried, But no one cares about Godzilla movies as much as they hoped.

Let's just go full denial like the star wars fandom and blame the bad votes on trolls and russian bots.

macumbalove and Im Durp, have you guys seen the actual film? Maybe you shouldn't jump to conclusions just yet? Don't always listen to critics. It is up to you whether you like the movie and not what the critics tell you to like. 

I'm not going to insult the critics or call them childish names. They are entitled to their views and their expectations may simply not be the same as us godzilla fans. Don't let them decide what you see. 

For balance, longtime Godzilla fan Mr H likes it and say the movie is for the fans, so that's a good contrasting balance with his non-spoiler review:

If you want to see it, get out and see it, and judge it for yourself. I rarely put much stock in what critics say, tbh. I look at RT scores for many movies, and I'm left scratching my head, so...

Where exactly did I judge the movie, or jump to conclusions in my response? Maybe people who aren't part of the SW fandom don't know so I'll explain the joke. When TLJ received less than stellar reviews on RT many jumped on the idea it was only through vote spamming and bots that the score was low and the movie was great, since Godzilla has a low score I jokingly compared it to that, in no way did I say anything about the movie's actual quality in my post.

Im Durp: TLJ got stellar critic reviews on RT. 91% in fact. It was some of the fans who were up in arms over it, angry over the way Skywalker was treated in the movie.

There is a possibility the opposite could be true in this Godzilla movie, the critics do not like it but the fans will love it. But maybe I am a bit premature, since at this moment, only 46 reviews are counted, whereas a major Hollywood movie like this usually get 80+ reviews at least. 

Yes it was fans that gave it bad reviews and it was the other side that made the claim those reviews were invalid for one reason or another trying to change the trend that they couldn't be trusted. The point being that RT may not always be right but there are valid reasons why people did or did not like a movie, and while it's not something to base everything off of, it's also not something to throw away and completely refuse to acknowledge.

I never go with what the critics say. They sit there and nit-pick at every little thing that is wrong with it. And I get that's there job, but movies like these are meant to be fun. So yeah just don't listen to what a critics says. And if you are fan of what ever genre the movie is you will have fun regardless.

I’m not gonna sit here and say that critics are always wrong, sometimes they have legitimate criticism. However, seeing the stellar reviews for The Last Jedi and Captain Marvel has kind made me loose a lot of faith in them. The main criticism they are giving is that there is too much Godzilla and not enough human focus. I would only have a problem with that if he was on screen for a ridiculous amount of time like 30 minutes like in MechaGodzilla 1993. If he’s on screen for a big chunk like 15-20 minutes I’m perfectly fine with that. Also, the screen time of the humans shouldn’t matter much as long as they’re interesting. It seems they are pulling the stopwatch bull crap but the other way around! So yea, in short, I’ll keep the criticisms in mind, but I’m gonna be really wary of them and really just judge the movie based on my opinion.

My sons and I will be there at 7pm tomorrow evening. Looking forward to it.

I’d like to remind you that me taking the criticism with a grain of salt does not equal “the critics are completely wrong”.

At the end of the day, you are the one that will judge the movie, not what other people say.
