If “Phase 2” Happens: More Classic Monsters or More Original Monsters?

If Phase 2 happens: would you want Godzilla to fight more classic kaiju or more original ones. Personally, I would like to see more original kaiju. That’s not to say I don’t want classic kaiju to return, but I think it would be better and more creative to give us more original monsters.

Outside of Pacific Rim, Hollywood hasn't had a great track record with original monsters. Although they were improving a bit with the few we saw in King of the Monsters.

Probably a healthy mix of both.

This may sound a bit dumb, but if there is going to be a King Kong sequel I hope that he would face Chiros. If you don’t who that is, basically he was introduced in the Kong animated series in 2008 as some sort of destructive fire God. Anyways the MonsterVerse is expanding its mythology, and just like how King Ghidorah inspired the myths of the hydra and the rainbow serpent, Chiros could have inspired the myth of Cronus. Of course Chiros has to get a major redesign and shouldn’t talk like he did in he animated series. Chiros is mainly composed of magma and stone and currently, we have another monster that has a magma like system, that monster is Rodan

This may be another dumb one but I would choose Nemesis. Nemesis is another alien monster, that was merged with a young girl dead body named Mako. But after merging her corpse with the alien DNA, Nemesis was revived and starts to devour everything in sight in order to grow. Nemesis is already linked to the Greek Goddess Of Vengeance of the same name and it will expand more into Greeks mythology

If by some miracle a phase 2 happens I'd love to see a mix of classic Toho kaiju and new kaiju. It seems Legendary isn't panicking yet about the Monsterverse, So we will see where this goes.

SuperZillaRealms, I also read the Project Nemesis series. I would love to see Nemesis on the big screen. She and Maigo (you misspelled the name) are awesome.

Personally I want to see a mix of both new and classic. Behemoth was my favorite among the new Titans. The picture above in the top of the topic would be a perfect example of things I would want to see if we get a Monsterverse phase 2

Original Titans. Toho’s monster rights are ridiculously expensive and come with so many specific rules and requirements to use. The Monsterverse is not making too much money so I don’t think a phase 2 is happening. But if I’m wrong, I can do with one or two Obscure Toho monsters like Manda and Varan. They don’t seem on Toho radar so they might go for clearance price. Megagurius and Battra also seem like they would go for cheap. But I just want to see more original designs uninhibited by costumes and prop mechanics.

If a phase 2 happens, (I'm not sure it would really be a "phase two", it will probably just be more movies) I think they should add just a couple more Toho kaiju, for the fans. But, their deals are expensive, and come with strict rules on how to use the characters I imagine.

So, it should mostly be original kaiju and maybe 3 more Toho kaiju. I say this because, there is more they can do with Toho so they shouldn't give up on bringing more kaiju over from there, but, Legendary had more freedom with their own kaiju to do as they please. 

All of that is to say that i agree with what G. H. (Gman) said.

I also believe it would be better for Legendary in terms of money. The general audiences don't know who most of these Toho kaiju are, they won't be able to tell the difference between Toho and original kaiju. This would mean that Legendary can create their own kaiju for cheaper and have just as much success as if they used Toho kaiju.

But, as a fan, obviously yes, I really want to see more Toho kaiju as well.

As a fan, I'd love some more Toho Kaiju, but as some one who wants the series to survive, they should bring in more original Kaiju. They already have created some good designs, they just need better names (in my opinion) XD

If this does happen, I wanna see more new titans, and some other non Toho creature appear, like the Rhedosaurus or Yongary.

The Toho designs, as whacky as they might look in their respective original appereance, are a million times better and much more memorable than any kaiju created by hollywood. I liked the designs of the original Monsterverse and Pacific Rim Kaiju but aside from the fact that their names really suck most of the time, their designs are not nearly as memorable as most of the Toho designs (Aside from Kumonga, Kamakuras etc.).

I mean even Kong basically doesn't really have a real original design...he is a giant gorilla, sometimes a more bipedal giant gorilla but it's different every movie. He does not have original features like godzillas spines or three heads or anything that really differentiates him from a gorilla in every appereance he had. He's always just more or less a giant gorilla. That's okay and cool but not very original.

In my eyes Toho Monsters are main characters and the originals are supporting characters and fillers.

I want to see more of both of them but Toho monsters are the clear favourites.

If phase 2 does happen I would like to see a little bit of the old and new.     There are ones that I would like to see come back like Angilus, Gigan, and a couple more but also add some new Kaiju to the mix that are created by our talented artists that are working on this project know.
