Godzilla Vs. Kong: In-Depth Analysis On Who Will Win

As Godzilla Vs. Kong fast approaches it's March 31st release date, let's look at an in-depth analysis on our legendary combatants' skills, past fights, importance to the MonsterVerse, and likelihood of being brought back if one of them falls, and finally who will win.  So here's a look!

Skills:

Fighter 1: Godzilla

- Can fire atomic blasts from his mouth

- Can breathe underwater for extended periods of time

- Super Strength

- Sometimes, Godzilla can send a nuclear shockwave that can destroy an entire city (That's his Burning Godzilla form)

- Extremely durable

- Godzilla's weaknesses are that he's kinda slow and not very agile

Fighter 2: Kong (King Kong, as most people know him by)

-  Intelligent, uses the environment around him to put up a fair fight

- Super Strength

- Fast and agile

- In GvK, Kong has got a new battle axe made from one of Godzilla's dorsal fins.  This weapon can actually absorb Gojira's atomic breath and deflect it.

- Kong's weaknesses is that even though he can take a lot of hits, he can't take as much as Godzilla and he can't really fight in the ocean.

Past fights:

Fighter 1: Godzilla

- In Godzilla 2014, he managed to take down the MUTOs pretty quickly and even though the 2nd one put up a fight, Gojira won after practically blasting it's head off.

- In Godzilla: King Of The Monsters, Godzilla lost to Ghidorah in their first bout in the movie, but almost beat him in their 2nd fight if the oxygen destroyer didn't intervene at the last second.

- After that whole fiasco, Godzilla and Mothra would team up to stop Ghidorah and Rodan.  Mothra would beat Rodan but Ghidorah gained the upper hand on Gojira, but Mothra would sacrifice herself and transfer her power to Godzilla, allowing him to transform into Burning Godzilla and destroy Ghidorah in a nuclear shockwave.  This is when Godzilla claimed his title as King Of The Monsters (or Titans, since that's their disambiguation in the modern movies).

Fighter 2: Kong

- He's tussled with his rivals, the Skull Crawlers and fought a Giant Squid.

- He beat the squid easily, but he had a hard time fighting the skull crawlers, who had him on the ropes.

- When he fought the leader of the Skull Crawlers, he only won after ripping out the Crawler's innards (gross). 

Importance to the MonsterVerse:

Godzilla and King Kong are the freaking mascots, so they're totally important.

Likelihood of being reborn:

- Godzilla has been killed and reborn in the past, so it can totally happen in Warner Bros' MonsterVerse.

- Kong is the last of his kind, so it's pretty unlikely that he'll be killed off.

Who will win:

The two Titans are pretty even, but Kong will have to really have a plan if he wants to beat Godzilla, who is the favorite for many people.

But we'll find out when Godzilla Vs. Kong comes to theaters and HBO Max on March 31st, 2021!
