Well I finally got to see this Titan battle on opening day in the states. Since the movie is titled ”Godzilla vs Kong”, I’ll focus more on that then all character roles. This movies it totally epic! Awesome! Unbelievable! The battle scenes were dynamic as hell and the CG effects were astounding. Way better than King of the Monsters.  I feel though that Kong had more screen time than Godzilla. The movie really focused on the human element that Kong has, especially with the character “Jia” played by Kaylee Hottlee, and I can see how Kong fans would really enjoy that. Godzilla on the other hand is just a BAD ASS and is only concerned with maintaining balance in the world of titans and destroying anything that might get in his way, hence his rampage to go after the scent of Ghidorah.   Kong just got in his way! As for the acting, I really didn’t like the character casting for team Godzilla. The selection for the character “Josh “played by Julian Dennison and “Bernie” played by Brian Tyree just didn’t work.  Subpar acting and script selection for those two characters were not very good.  Kyle Chandlers character “Mark Russell” didn’t get enough screen time and only had a few lines. Madison’s character played by Millie Brown was ok, but just didn’t click with the other two in my opinion. I know King of the Monsters got a bad rap, but the acting in that movie was way better in my opinion, but the CG effects can’t even compare to this movie.

My favorite scene is where Godzilla had Kong on his back and was ready to put his foot through Kong’s chest and crush him like a grape, then belched out a mighty roar in Kong’s face almost as if Godzilla was screaming at Kong saying “Look A-hole I’m after somebody else! “ Then he decided to spare his life. To me that was the definitive scene that showed who really won this fight!  Great movie, great special effects, and I will say that yes indeed, Godzilla might have won (yay!), but Kong saved Godzilla’s life at the end.  What’s your movie review and favorite scene?

Make sure you add a SPOILER ALERT to your subject line for anyone who hasn't seen this yet.
