MemberAnguirusAug-05-2021 6:46 AMIn a recent interview, writer Max Borenstein mentioned the future and continuation of the MonsterVerse. He stated:
"I’ve heard some exciting things that are happening that I can’t divulge. They have a great handle on things there and I certainly have thoughts and am always excited when I get involved in them. I think it’s in good hands and with the success of Godzilla vs. Kong, there will be some new, interesting installments coming. Without being able to say any of that officially, you can look at the fact that that film performed and people really responded to it. I think it was really wonderful timing for people to have that towards the end of that surge in the pandemic, people really felt eager to see something that was fun and joyful in the cinema and it was really exciting to have our movie be that movie."
Interestingly, he also mentioned the possibility of a movie (or movies) with "minimal humans", focused on visual story telling and set mostly from the monsters' point of view (possibly similar to Godzilla: Dominion). He stated:
“Given the success of Godzilla vs. Kong, I’m kind of hoping in whatever the next phase Legendary decides to do that we would see that. I think it’d be pretty cool. I think it is possible. It would be very ambitious. I think ambitious in that Mad Max: Fury Road way. I think it’s totally possible to do that with the absolute minimum amount of human characters and really characterize the creatures.”
So it appears that the MonsterVerse is far from over, and we'll have plenty to look forward to in the future. Now all we have to do is just wait and see if Legendary can renew their Godzilla contract with Toho...

AdminGodzillaAug-05-2021 5:53 PMg-man fan,
There is no such thing as Godzilla: Desolation. That was a fan invented title that's been plastered all over fan posters.
The next Monsterverse movie has been suggested to be Kong-centric.

This comment really worries me. I dont like this idea at all. I get that using the monsters as main characters is not tried before, but honestly it seems lazy and a lack of effort to try and write an engaging story with good humans. Also humanizing them would take away what makes them interesting to me.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-07-2021 2:01 AMI am honestly very happy about this. But the thing is that they have pretty much did everything, I would love to see the monsterverse continue but i really don't know where. They could do a zilla or a gigan spinoff but that's about it. Maybe the space godzilla story? I think a soft reboot or an "alternate universe" with the same actors and characters would be great

MemberAnguirusAug-07-2021 6:19 AMI feel like they could easily have a movie focused directly on Kong, told through his point of view, focusing on visual storytelling. Godzilla: Dominion was also directly told from Godzilla's point of view. So I think, if done right, they could pull it off.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-07-2021 7:20 PMThat's actually a great idea. Perhaps they could do a non-canon/alternate universe final wars? I don't know, it's kinda early for that. Shin godzilla/godzilla earth are also good options

MemberGiganAug-07-2021 9:15 PMMy comment was mainly focused on Godzilla.Kong can talk and have dialogue and is essentially a connection between humans and Titans at this point.
It also seems lazy to me
