What Happened To Skull Island's Dinosaurs?

In Kong: Skull Island, a giant non-fossilized triceratops skull is shown within the boneyard along side the skeletons of Kong's parents, the script and concept art for the film also described other dinosaur remains, including descriptions of an apatosaurus skeleton. This implies that dinosaurs once roamed Skull Island. So what happened to them? Based on what's shown in the film, it's implied that they may have been killed off by the SkullCrawlers, but this raises some other questions, like how did these dinosaurs survive the extinction event and how did they end up on Skull Island? In Godzilla vs Kong, Skull Island is described as "Hollow Earth come to the surface", and later it is shown that Hollow Earth contains some Skull Island species (such as the Leafwings) and a similar environment. If all of the creatures of Skull Island came from Hollow Earth, does this mean the dinosaurs did as well and are there some still down there? Interestingly, early concepts for the Hell Hawks portrayed them as pterosaurs (technically not dinosaurs, but close relatives of them). So do you think we could see dinosaurs in a potential future MonsterVerse movie or the upcoming Skull Island Netflix series?
