AdminSpaceGodzillaJan-14-2013 1:06 AMInformation about the Monster [i]Godzilla[/i] will face off against in [b]Godzilla 2014[/b] is still unknown, but going by reactions of attendees of the [i]Comic-Con[/i] [b]Godzilla 2014[/b] teaser footage, we can assume that [i]Godzilla[/i] will be facing some kind of Centipede-like monster, or some form of giant insect or spider.
Viewers of the [b]Godzilla 2014[/b] teaser footage at [i]Comic-Con 2012[/i] claim to have seen curled insect legs... lots of them as the smoke rises and we pan upwards to see a faint image of [i]Godzilla[/i]'s head as he lets out a thunderous roar - the iconic [b]Godzilla[/b] roar.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-06-2013 9:32 PMSeriously, I'm just like all of you and since I can literally remember I've been a Godzilla freak. I was a kid in the early seventies and remember it very well. Loved it. Ran home from school to not miss Godzilla week....however, please know that with the greatest respect to our nostalgic past, while there will be a nod here and there to the old, there is absolutely NO way Gareth is making an old school battle film here. No aliens, no Monster Island, no Godzilla talking to Angilus,...etc. This is a rework of the original and while there may be other monsters in it, more than likely they will be a part of the background. Imagine that whatever creates Godzilla offshoots to other things but certainly not any focus. This is Gojira and humans. And believe me I love the old but it GUARANTEED will not happen that way. Think about it. It would instantly relegate it to a kids film. No way Legendary is doing that.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-27-2013 9:49 PMPersonally I think it would be interesting to have a new monster. One idea I just thought of: What do you guys think of the idea of a cyborg that was created by both humans and aliens. Question is where would they get organic parts for it?
Also I think it would be awesome to have an ancient, non dinosaur, monster (example: Leviathan, Fenrir, Behemoth, etc.) Something from known mythology.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-30-2013 10:50 PMThey'll definitely make a new monster since Legendary Pictures only has the right to use Godzilla from Toho. As for what type, i'd like to see something aquatic, maybe an natural predator or prey for Godzilla. It would be nice if it was maybe large than him, to present a challenge, and had 2 or 3 smaller minions for him to fight.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-31-2013 11:05 PMThe original "Gojira" had human drama, it is important to see how this force of nature afects us. If this is lost then at one point the true scale and the stakes will be pointless.
As i understand it Edwards is going for a feel more similar to the original film (please no Raymond Burr-ish characters...), and i am fine with it as long as i get the REAL godzilla, the one that fights monsters because he's territorial and that's it. we just get "saved" because he's saving us for last.
And by the things i've heard about the trailer from this year's comicon... Let's just say i am more than intrigued.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-04-2013 5:43 PMI agree 100% protoantonio. that is the true spirit in which it is intended. I have no problem him fighting other monster..look forward to it, but only because they are in his way. I like the idea of a force of nature and we created it.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-06-2013 2:42 AMI realy dont think GODZILLA's gonna fight anything i feel the movie is gonna be like RODAN smaller monsters menacing humans then the Gman shows up and becomes the true threat.though the red and black whatever painted on the building in sandiego may be a clue to a second and awsome new monster.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-06-2013 5:24 PM@G FAN 84, what is this based on? There is no proof that all of Godzilla's opponents will be tiny insects. Legendary must know what the fans want. We want an epic final battle! Not some "giant mommy lizard getting destroyed by 10 missiles" climax, but an epic final fight between Godzilla and the (hopefully) big and awesome main antagonist.

MemberBaragonSep-25-2013 3:41 AMAs long as they don't do another Mothra, MechaG, or Ghidorah I don't really care what they choose, but there are some monsters godzilla's fought way to many times to make them into another movie.

MemberMothra LarvaeSep-27-2013 8:07 PMI know there was a rumor that the art for the monsters was leaked and im sure most of you saw them as 1 looked like a mutated ant eater, and the other looked like a bulky rhinoceros. I'm sure those aren't going to the enemies, and i'm very happy as i wasn't a fan of them when i saw them.

The new threat of godzilla catches the eye of an alien race that has conquering worlds, so they unleash there giant cyborg monster upon earth to end Godzilla only to have there plan fail at the end. Or ! the aliens could just be trying to conquer the world using gigan and godzilla comes to eradicate the threat .... not to save the humans, but to just kill the aliens

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-11-2013 9:45 PMi think that from the footige it looks like kamonga the giant spider id quite like to see him as a main monster that godzilla has to fight but if it was a new monster then id like to see some sort of dragon (not king gidorah) it would only have one head and it would have to have armes and wings

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-11-2013 10:37 PMHonestly, I wouldn't mind seeing some classing monsters make cameo appearances. But if this is to be a new series setting aside all it's predecessors of the showa, heisei, and millenium periods, a new monster would be a treat.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-12-2013 10:26 AMI don't disagree with the topic of shifting to human character focus. However this is an American made Godzilla film. There is going to be human plot development. Its a serious movie with a serious monster. They are going to spend definite time on building Bryan Cranstons lead role in this film. There are some great actors in this movie, and I'm excited to see all aspects filled out.
Like I said in other forums, I think Godzillas foe is going to be strongly based on Destroyahs creature design and evolution. It has too many connections to all of the viral campaigning and teaser trailers.
