On the classic Honda's movie 'King Kong vs. Godzilla', something strange happens: in the final fight between them, the two monsters fall into the sea. Godzilla, which means can moves seamlessly into the water because it is an amphibian, no returns, while King Kong returns to his island swimming calmly. And that gorillas can not swim ...

I do remember that, yeah. I think it was because it was supposed to be primarily a King Kong film, so Godzilla was secondary, and thus wasn't supposed to come out on top. I agree with you that is seemed a bit ridiculous. Godzilla should have won, without a doubt.

They should have done the two endings, which was always the urban legend for years, one where Kong wins and one where G wins, that would have been cool.

Here I brings some interesting frames of the final fight sequence between the two beasts. A classic!

I have read that there is two versions of the film. American in which Kong wins and Japanese in which Godzilla wins. I think nobody known who actually one but all I can say is that this film needs a perfect remake.

Eruptedblood@ for a this hipotetical cinematic crossover you are suggesting, there is a dimensional parity problem, King= 18 ft / Godzilla= about 200 ft, and the Emmerich's Godzilla must be measured on the 300, if I remember correctly. King Kong should grow and mutate to reach out to the waist.

See what happens when American studios tell me what to do.

While I don't think the ending of Kong Kong vs Godzilla (1962) is the worst ending to a Godzilla movie, it is still a very anti-climatic ending IMO.

King Kong was running away goji is the real winner

i have heard the two version story before, I think that Godzilla won and kong was running away or that they were possibly setting it up for another go round some time in the future.

i know godzilla should have won because water is his element and he has powers king kong shouldnt have powers lightning never made king kong stronger in king kong or son of kong. they probobly had king kong win because he's more of a good guy and good guys always win.
KING KAIJU 1 small step for kaiju 1 giant step for godzilla!!!!

actually the film was originally going to be Godzilla vs Frankenstien, but cut frank out replaced him with kong. In the movie you'l notice kong gets strength from electricity. In movie reality kong wouldnt stand a chance against godzilla kong is 25 ft tall and godzilla is 400 ft tall and can breathe nuclear fire.

I was watching kingkong vs Godzilla and when kingkong came up he didnt even scream a victory roar he just ran off, I think he was afraid Godzilla would kill him so he ran. also I think Godzilla was letting him go because he was no longer a match

This one needs to be remade. With the excellent production that we see today, this could be done very well. Just looking at the Pacific Rim trailers, how awesome a monster movie fighting in a city could look today.

chris picard with all due respect how did godzilla lose underwater in like 20 seconds if kong was fighting him underater dont you think 100's of gallons of salt water would have been going up his nose and his eyes blurred they were in godzillas realm.then kong another magical power he has during this hack job american style he is underwater swimming like a beeline home and because eric grin boy carter says godzilla has disappeared without a trace and then says we wish hima safe journey home.godzilla doesn't have to pop his head up he lives in the water he just swam away like kong swam away faster than phelps and killed godzilla in 20 seconds while he was at it no don't think so i wish you guys could see the japanese version if your interested let me know i know a site that has it also i have an interesting nugget about the how the movie was really shot nint go to google.com put king kong vs godzilla in the search box and then select images about 54 55 or 56 images down on the first page to the right you see godzilla bent over shooting his ray at kong and the original script has godzilla destroying him but universal thought the american baby audience would be upset that a japanese monster could beat their animal that gets easily killed by conventional military weapons nice chattin chris

the picture i was telling you guys about where godzilla is bending over the cliff and shooting his ray at kong is on the left side today it was on the far right yesterday but if you google kingkong vs godzilla and then click images it's like the 54th to 58 to the far left its a small tall pic of the original ending of the movie but like i said they thought the american babies would complain that godzilla won too bad!!!!
