how to include Gorosaurus into the monsterverse33,958 Views83 RepliesAdd A Reply
Gorosaurus is one of the many Kong enemies based on dinosaurs, but it seems to be that he is the favorite in that category. If there was going to be a kong 2, then I can definitely see Gorosaurus be introduced into the monsterverse. This was my first requested monster in the "how to include in the monsterverse" and was requested by minecraftdinokaiju. He also helped me out with giving me a quote from tohokingdom.com "Unlike its smaller brethren, this creature dragged its tail across the ground in order to remain balanced due to its utterly gigantic size". Thanks for the submission. It really gave me an idea that I thought would be quite unique.
I do want to point out that this is all speculation. I am not saying everything in here HAS to happen. This is just the way I would do it.
Now here is my idea of how to include Gorosaurus into the monsterverse.
Gorosaurus would be a dinosaur related to the Allosaurus from the prehistoric era. Gorosaurus would be the name of his species and not just for 1 dinosaur-like in KKE. The way that this species works is that they have a lifespan of about 400 years. When they are about 25 to 50 years old they are about 30 meters tall and lean forward like an allosaurus. When they are 100 to 200 years old they are about 50 to 75 meters tall and stand a bit more upright. When they become a full adult at the age of 250 to 400 they can become up to 90 to 120 meters tall. The Gorosaurus species was a major enemy of the Kong species especially as they were living in the same region.
But then the meteor strikes and wipes out almost all of the dinosaurs on earth, but the Gorosaurusses survived the extinction event by going underground into the hollow earth. Whilst going through these tunnels they encountered many other monsters that attacked them. Most of the Gorosaurusses died because of these monsters and the Gorosaurus rase became an endangered species. Some of the caves came to fill with lava and magma forced them to come out of the tunnels. Only a dozen of the Gorosaurusses came out of the tunnels alive. They found themselves on an island by the name of mondo island.
On the island, many many generations go by of the species growing in numbers ones again, but then the food ran out. every single living being on the island was eaten by the Gorosaurusses (which makes sense seeing as this takes place about a million years later) and the Gorosaurusses had to evolve and civilized. The leader of the group got to eat the other Gorosaurusses to survive and when the Gorosaurus leader died of old age, there would be a new Gorosaurus to become the leader of the group. The Gorosaurusses couldn't reproduce enough to stay alive by cannibalizing, so they made a plan to take over the earth ones again and go back into the tunnels and appear all over the world looking for new sources of food (aka humans). The younger Gorosaurusses appear from the ground up (like in "destroy all monsters") all over the world in cities around the world (of course Paris is part of these cities). even in new york a Gorosaurus appears and everyone thinks it is Godzilla for some reason? ;)
In the meanwhile, the leader of the Gorosaurusses stayed on mondo island (with a few younger Gorosaurusses in case of...) waiting for the younger Gorosaurusses to bring him food or let him know if it is safe for him to come. Unfortunately, the Gorosaurusses can't handle the human gun and missile fire. humankind has changed and evolved more than the Gorosaurusses expected. the younger Gorosaurusses get killed all over the world (the one in new york gets killed by the missiles on the Brooklyn bridge). Whilst all of this is going on, Kong swam to mondo island to confront the leader of the Gorosaurusses (which at this point would be the last of its kind). Kong would hit the leader from behind and the younger Gorosaurusses would jump in and attack kong. After Kong kills the younger Gorosaurusses the leader jumps back in action for a final battle with 2 creatures that are at that point the last of its species. After a long even fight Kong eventually kills the leader, making the Gorosaurus species extinct.
I did a powers section in the king caesar forum, so I will make one for Gorosaurus as well. Of course, they would be able to do a kangaroo kick. It might not seem very logical for them to be able to do this, but it is Gorosaurusses most famous attack. I was going to give him the ability to dig like in "destroy all monsters", but how can he dig with those arms. instead, he rams things with his head (which is why he has such a flat head). Gorosaurusses were said to be very intelligent creatures and that is something I want to keep.
This is the end of the forum. again thanks for the request and the helpful quote from minecraftdinokaiju. I hope you like the end result. I didn't really focus on kong in this story, but this wasn't meant to be a sketch for a full story for kong 2, but more of a kong 2 from the point of the Gorosaurusses. This story might feel a bit complicated for just a dinosaur species, but I wanted to not make the Gorosaurus feel like the Skullcrawlers from KSI and still, there are a lot of similarities between the 2, but this was the best I could do.
If there are things that you would have done differently or just disagree with something, please let me know in the comments and we can discuss our opinions and if there are any other monsters that you would like to see, please let a comment telling me who/what you would like to see.

Long live the king...
Well honestly if Legendary keeps up with the "hollow earth" theory, Gamera had a similar origin of coming out of the ground after a H-Bomb dropped and awakening the monster. The Heisei Gamera has a way more abstract origin, but that might be more complicated to meld into the Legendary Monsterverse.
Off topic: isn't weird that the MUTO's are basically brother and sister? Makes ya feel kind of funny now right?
Actually, the hollow-earth theory won’t be involved in the Gamera forum at all. It is just a way to make him stand out more and be more unique. But let's save that for the forum.
Also with that muto being brother and sister thing. In Godzilla 2014 the main married couple (ford and Ellie) in the movie are brother and sister in ”Avengers: Age of Ultron” so...
Long live the king...
HA! Did not know that. Well, I see a pattern here.... we can connect the dots.
Anyway just thought I would throw some thought cake at ya for Gamera
I saw you're comment on the ”Godzilla vs kong (2020) working title” forum and I thought it would be better to continue it here.
In my opinion, anguirus fits in perfectly as he has always been in the franchise. The only change to connect him into this universe is by saying that he is the creature in Siberia from the monarch timeline.
Zilla I don’t think will ever see the light of day again. Zilla is something most people want to forget, especially Toho. I just feel like if I was ever going to do a forum on Zilla, then he would come way later. I feel like there are many other interesting kaiju to explore in this series. Btw, I already sort of added him in the Gorosaurus forum.
Long live the king...
^I agree with the Zilla standpoint. If you were to do a forum on Zilla then I would fear you would waste your time and effort when there are a plethora of other great Kaiju's that would rather be spent any of your time on.
"If you were to do a forum on Zilla then I would fear you would waste your time and effort when there are a plethora of other great Kaiju's that would rather be spent any of your time on."
You mean like Ebirah, Gabara, or Minilla? (Lol.) Just kidding about those three, although I wonder that if not Zilla, then what about Biollante, Battra, or Megaguirus?
Those Kaiju's(IMO) are much better use of a time to use than Zilla. Even Ebirah, Gabara and Minilla are way more better than Zilla.
What about this guy:
What do you have to say about him?
^Nothing much. Still a bastard son of Zilla. That thing is a byproduct of a failed attempt to cash in on a possible sequel to an abortion of a movie featuring a gigantic coward of a monster that happens to be killed so easily by some missiles at the end of a 120 minute joke. I mean...Really?! For once the army actually kills a giant monster with just missiles?! Not a fancy wonder weapon of some kind? Maybe they should have tried something easier like killing it with a giant pointy stick. That could have worked. Or a really heavy rock that gets dropped on its head. It would have save the tax payers some money. Sorry, but Zilla is a joke not just to the Godzilla fan base but to all of giant monsters everywhere!
I apologize to anyone and everyone who enjoys this miscarriage of a monster movie or its cancer of a cartoon series. It is not my place to judge ones idea of art and entertainment. I too once loved this movie when it came out 20 years ago. I was a young boy then. But you all need help now. haha
So, you're pretty much saying that Zilla Jr., even though he has more than his father, is still just as bad as the 1998 Zilla?
"For once the army actually kills a giant monster with just missiles?!" Even though it took them much longer (6 days and 35 miles later, to be exact), didn't they do the same thing in the first Pacific Rim?
^Im sorry... what?
Zilla Jr. has more "what" than his father? Im not sure what your referring to and what ever that may be, Im still saying Zilla Jr also has just as much as chance to show up in any other form as its pathetic film father did. Zilla Jr is still just as hated and unwanted in the series. Though the cartoon series is somewhat enjoyable, it doesn't change the fact that it still has no place in an actual setting where real monsters can just kill it so easily.
And the reason why it took so long to kill Zilla was because it was running like a little coward every time something shot at it. Its pretty hard to kill anything that runs away so much in a movie. That's why it took the movie 2 hours to kill it.
Its supposed to be Godzilla! Godzilla never ran away from anything that shot at him!
And you cant compare Zilla to the first Pacific Rim movie. That film was made by artists and people with vision and respect for what they were making. Not a bunch of misguided hacks like the ones who made Zilla 98. There is no comparison. Plus they are Giant Robots punching and stabbing the kaiju. Yes there are missiles, but that on top off a gigantic robot hitting you a lot? What monster wouldn't die from that? Except Godzilla. haha
Im just telling you the general consensus on this imposter monster. Its a joke now with anything related to Godzilla. Its a very hated character so much so that it was blown up in a movie and celebrated and the entire fan base cheered its demise. Even Toho doesn't want it lingering in its copyright vault. Im sure they are glad they own the rights to Zilla so that no one can ever use it again. Slowly starving it out of peoples memories so we can all forget that it even happened.
The memory will probably disappear by the end of the century. But let's not jinx it.
^That I can agree with.
I just remembered that some Youtube channels use Zilla as a character (most notably, Lbrosfilm), so maybe not.
However, I've heard from some people that it's good that Zilla is earning a name for himself. Would you agree or disagree with that? For me, I'm split.
^I really don't care about whatever name or future Zilla has. Zilla isn't going to make any comebacks anytime soon. He is featured in comic books along side Godzilla, youtube, only 2 movie entries(one pretty much a cameo), I mean I cannot deny the movie has doesn't have some kind of impact on all of us no matter how small that may be.
To me Zilla already made a name for itself, its not a good one, and most including myself rather not say his name(haha, he who should not be named). Hell, Zilla already has his name ripped in half. He is minus a God. That there says enough to me.
He's never coming back into another movie along side Godzilla, we all need to face it and welcome it. That atrocity wont ever taint the Godzilla universe again. Thank God....zilla(haha).
If only time travel was possible to prevent it. But then we wouldn't get the Millennium Era, at least as we know it. Right?
The 98 movie had little to do with Godzilla's resurgence in the millennium. Toho was going to make more Godzilla movies anyway, Toho had plans to make more Godzilla movies before the 98 movie was going to be made. The only thing different was to make them sooner so that everyone could forget about the 98 disaster. Im sorry but Zilla left a bad taste in the mouths of fans everywhere. Im glad some enjoyed the movie, but honestly the film ripped off of every trope the 90's offered and vomited it all up.
I like the little refrence you put to Godzilla '98, and it's funny you did, because I just watched Godzilla 1998 recently, and heard one of the scientists mistake Godzilla for an overgrown Allosaurus.
Small world, huh?
"Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds."
Thanks, I thought it would be the closest the Monsterverse could get to including Zilla. It would just be a need reference :)
Long live the king...
This is great help because part of my fanfic prelude to Godzilla Vs Kong will include Gorosaurus into the MonsterVerse.
Yeah I had included Gorosaurus to the Gojiverse although he was just a massive Carchardontosaurus rather than the kangaroosaurus he was in the toho films. A more faithful Gorosaurus will make an appearance in Rise of the Kaiju
Sincerely, I can't see Gorosaurus as a villain, I think it would be cool to see Gorosaurus trying to fighting vs Kong but losing, and in the end bowing to him as his true king and turning into an important Kong allie
