And don't expect me to go out to Inception to see it either. I'll wait until it's online.

MemberBaragonJul-08-2020 9:38 AMInception is one of my all-time favorites, Dune is one of my most anticipated movies right now (along with Tenet), and I've been waiting for a GvK trailer for a lifetime. This sounds almost too good to be true, though I'm not really sure if this is a good marketing decision on WB's part, depending on when this trailer is released online.
G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaJul-08-2020 10:06 AMPlanning on seeing Inception when it returns to theaters anyway, so if I get a GvK trailer out of it--Cool! If I don't? Is still get a great movie out of it.

MemberGiganJul-08-2020 2:01 PMIf its a teaser it probably wont even have gojira (or kong), just hint at it. It's a teaser, fifteen seconds. So not much to be excited about

Most teasers are much longer than that these days. The first teaser trailer for King of the Monsters was 2:30.

AdminGodzillaJul-10-2020 8:36 PMSarcasticGoji,
That was a teaser for the first trailer itself--It was not shown in theaters and was only used to hype up the first trailer. This was the official teaser from SDCC:

MemberGiganJul-11-2020 9:00 AMYour link is not the teaser, seeing that it is not labeled as one on any sources.
G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaJul-11-2020 6:33 PMIt was the first official trailer for the film and often referred to as a teaser when it was released by multiple sources at the time.
What your referring to was not shown in theaters before films, thus is not a good comparison for a first look in theaters. The link I showed, on the other hand, was the first look in theaters.
Djdndnejwnwn
MemberGiganJul-12-2020 4:30 PMNo source I see refers to it as a teaser, and is a First Look not an official, teaser. So assuming the GvK teaser, is not an official teaser and is a First Look would not be correct. Just because Kotm did not show the teaser in Theaters doesn’t mean GvK will. Quite the opposite, according to this source. We may be lucky and see some monsters, but it’s unlikely.

"Our first official look at Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures' Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) will reportedly debut on July 31st"
I understand you, but you don't need to take the word "teaser" in the title quite that literally. Also, this isn't the first source to report on this information; there are several others sources that came out with this info a considerable amount of time before this site, and every one simply refers to the GvK footage as the "first official footage" to debut in theaters. "Teaser" was just a simple chosen for the title of this article to articulate that this will be the first footage we get to see. But who knows, it really could just be a quick, 30 second teaser of the film containing no monster footage... we can't really know for sure.

Any movie that has some hype, will first use a teaser.
G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaJul-13-2020 9:01 AMSarcasticGoji,
Except for King of the Monsters apparently--Since the first in-theater footage was a full blown trailer according to you.
Djdndnejwnwn
MemberGiganJul-13-2020 10:19 AM@G.H Gman
Youre forgetting that king of the monsters first trailer of any kind that was in theaters, is not a teaser
G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaJul-14-2020 9:06 AMI don't forget at all--I'm pointing out you're logic is flawed. Admitting that the first footage of King of the Monsters in theaters was a full trailer goes against what you're saying. You suspect there will be a teaser in theaters because, "Any movie that has some hype, will first use a teaser."
That's untrue, if you decide to refer to the first King of the Monsters footage as a full trailer.

MemberTitanosaurusJul-14-2020 3:25 PMHey, a lot of prominent YouTubers are calling the site out for clickbaiting, and they're honestly right to do so.
Reading through your article again, you're making some very assured assumptions that a teaser's coming.
Simply putting in the word "reportedly" isn't enough; you have to make absolutely sure you recognize that the possibility was only vaguely suggested in the original source and that you're only INTERPRETING that as meaning a teaser's coming.
At the moment, yeah, you guys are clickbaiting. You guys will definitely want to fix that, or else you'll continue to be called out justly for providing a false interpretation.
Chris
AdminSpaceGodzillaJul-14-2020 5:40 PMLol, and who are these YouTubers you speak of? I haven't seen a single one.
My brain literally hurts when I read people claiming "clickbait" on an article that is explicit in its description in both title and body. The news was sourced from /Film, they have sources which claimed the footage would be attached to Inception's theatrical rerelease on the 31st of this month.
Let me educate you folks on what clickbait headlines are: misleading, teasing without info to entice CLICKS. This headline tells you everything the article is about. You may click it to elaborate your understanding but you don't have to. Your choice.
Second of all, it most certainly IS enough to say "reportedly"... because.... the information is... reportedly!! *gasp*
Again, I don't know of any YouTubers calling the site clickbait, but honestly, let them. You could not make me care any less lol They're clearly not well known and have little to no impact on me, this site or how I write my articles.
/Film blatantly said GvK footage would be shown with Inception. I did not make this up. Check the source I reference in this post. This is basic journalism, I don't understand why this is such a difficult concept for some people to grasp. I said reportedly because I do not know for 100% fact, not did I claim the information myself, I am relaying a REPORT by another outlet, who usually, is correct.
There will always be haters, let em hate. But if you're gonna ***** and moan and claim an article is clickbait, at least have an understanding of what clickbait is. /rant
TheGMan123
MemberTitanosaurusJul-15-2020 5:04 AMI didn't mean to offend, just trying to get you guys to notice that you're attracting the same claims of clickbait as before.
D Man 1954, Mr. H Reviews, etc. I think it's also the timing of this article.
The original source was from over a week ago in June, but you guys put this article out after the first week of July. You gotta admit, it does look suspicious if you put out an article reporting on another one that's over a week later and isn't a news compilation of the news over the past few weeks/months.
The actual source itself only states that seeing footage from GvK is a possibility; it doesn't explicitly state that they're expecting a teaser trailer or anything. It also doesn't even include anything related to SDCC, which further puts this article into question given how you guys made the connection that the potential footage would be from WB's SDCC even though we now know WB won't be debuting anything then.
I often like to come here for news, and I just want the experience to be improved so that folks will take it seriously. You could honestly edit out "teaser trailer" and the SDCC bit, and it'd be fine. Maybe also the "will debut alongside" bit.
Again, I just want to make sure you guys are represented fairly. You guys do still have a bit of a tarnished reputation from the old day, and I want to help the people reporting on you guys to see that you do have honest work put into research and getting actual news out.
TheGMan123
MemberTitanosaurusJul-16-2020 4:11 AMI also think a lot of people are getting the wrong idea from this.
Some folks are also thinking that this strongly suggests a teaser trailer is coming, when the original source only vaguely suggests it's a possibility that some unknown form footage might be attached. And we don't want people to be making false claims based on what was written here, either.
And really, with the site's old reputation and the predominance of Kaiju News Outlet and Gormaru Island, it can be hard to blame folks like D Man1954 for not taking this site seriously at face value. I like to get my news from here, but I'm also aware that not many others do.
All I'm saying is that maybe there need to be less claims and catch words like "teaser trailer" and more just the absolute straight facts, no dressing or interpretation. If only so that such folks won't have a leg to stand on and we can PROPERLY say that they don't know what they're talking about.
G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaJul-16-2020 9:41 AMSarcasticGoji,
Then stop repeating yourself. The fact is while some teasers aren't shown in theaters, there's little reason to jump to a conclusion we'll get a 40 second Comic Con-esque, internet tease for another trailer in theaters. That never happens.
The source in question could also be using the word "teaser" very loosely. There's no definitive indication of something that's short or long and certainly no indication of anything that won't show monsters--Which would make for a fairly lackluster teaser.
Some sources, including Slashfilm don't even use the term "teaser" or "trailer" for this specific instance, merely "sneak peak".
Chris
AdminSpaceGodzillaJul-16-2020 11:01 AM@TheGMan123,
I understand what you're saying, I unfortunately have never heard of and never seen a video by D Man1954, so I'm not really concerned with his opinion. Ironically Mr. H Reviews I am aware of and it cracks me up that he of all YouTubers would use the term clickbait for anything. Bit of a throwing of stones while living in a glass house situation. But again, YouTube is on the decline so I'm once again unphased by their opinion.
I'm not taking offense and not bothered by you at all, I wish to clarify. You've been a great member of this site for a while.
And yes, we do have an unfortunately mixed reputation, ironically instilled by malicious intent by those who deliberately tried to tarnish the site's reputation, if you recall the fabricated video from way back I mistook as an official leak. It was formulated and presented with the purpose of attacking this site. So, when you consider the reputation, you need to also consider the history and to be fair, the news we cover is legitimate. We do report on leads and rumors and it's only ever when we do that people lose their **** - as if rumor reporting has never existed on the internet. But alas, nothing we can do to change the minds of those who decide to hate us. Let em hate, they still follow and read what we write.
Even one of them signed up with my own name to try and make a mockery / tarnish my name further. It's childish, it's sad but it is the internet and as a site that is well known, unfortunately something we have to live with.
We're still reporting steady news on a weekly basis, we're still delivering facts and we will continue to do so into the future. Let the haters hate, imo. They can preach whatever they like to their limited and equally mentally limited fan base, I'll keep running my site how I see fit and I'll still report on rumors if they seem legitimate enough to do so.
You can't win em all, but you'll never hear them praise the times you were right, only the few times you're wrong. Oh well.
TheGMan123
MemberTitanosaurusJul-16-2020 11:27 AMI've been doing my due diligence trying to at least get people to see the good work on reporting news here, even if they don't particularly like how it's being presented here.

I'm sorry if I was rude in any way. If I repeat myself it is because I do not see solid evidence in another argument, but this could just be a matter of opinion and misreading.
Djdndnejwnwn
MemberGiganJul-16-2020 1:40 PMI do not wish to argue, but to make my opinion clear, and if it is challenged, I WILL provide my defense. Your OPINION of the validity of my argument is also your opinion. This will hopefully settled when the "Teaser" comes out. All my opinion is, is that I don't expect much. Therefore I am not hoping for much in this first "teaser".
