On November 3rd, Godzilla's 64th Anniversary, the previously reported replica of the original Godzilla suit was unveiled to the public. Godzilla stormed Godzilla Fes (Festival) in Tokyo Midtown Hibiya. With it came the announcement of a new short film being produced. Take a look at the images below.
The suit will be used for the upcoming short film, marking the second occasion this specific design will be seen onscreen. (Third time, if fans agree the 1955 Godzilla Raids Again costume is a worthy representation of the original design.) The behind-the-scenes footage gives us a taste of the replica in action! Check it out:
Currently it's unknown who will be directing the short, but we know the film depicts Godzilla attacking the city of Sukagawa--The birthplace of master special effects director Eiji Tsuburaya. The movie will debut at the grand opening of the Eiji Tsuburaya Museum--Honoring the life and legacy of the man who brought Godzilla to life. It opens January 11th, 2019.
