Today we're thrilled to announce the introduction of Tiamat - a brand new original Titan to the official Monsterverse family of Monsters! What makes this Titan so special however is it's the first time (to my knowledge) a fan of the Godzilla community has been involved in producing official material acknowledged by a studio! Tiamat, a reptilian Titan very akin to Toho's Manda, was created by our very own Dopepope!

Fans should be more than familiar with Dopepope's work since we've featured a number of his creations over the years. His career has really taken off recently and we couldn't be happier for him! Below is some of his amazing artwork he created for Tiamat along with a brief description. Be sure to click the links at the foot of this article to see more of Dopepope's work and to stay connected with him through social!

I'm thrilled to be able to post my official Monsterverse concept development artworks for Titanus Tiamat. Here you can see the various shifts in ideas and forms as we tried to solidify a distinct silhouette for what would become one of the major Titans of the Monsterverse. 'Godzilla Dominion' graphic novel is where Tiamat makes her first appearance, drawn beautifully by Drew Johnson. Working with the team at Legendary is bar far one of my greatest achievements in my career, and an absolute honor. Having anything to do with this awesome franchise is a dream come true. A huge thank you to Michael Dougherty & Legendary for giving me that chance.

See even more Tiamat artwork on Dopepope's ArtStation page and be sure to give him a follow on Twitter!

More about upcoming Godzilla movies

Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) is the sequel to Michael Dougherty's Godzilla 2: King of the Monsters and will be the fourth and final installment in the Monsterverse movie quadrilogy. It will also bridge both the Godzilla movies and Kong: Skull Island by bringing Godzilla and Kong face-to-face for an epic match-up. Wow!!!!! this is going to be awesome.  I can't wait.  We all know GodZilla will win. But how???  How much will it cost him.  What challenges will Godzilla face to defeat this new threat. Oh I can think of sooooo many possibility

I read Godzilla Dominion and this was a cool Titan.  I hope Legendary can carry on with Monsterverse comics, even if they don't get to keep the Godzilla license from Toho.

In Godzilla Dominion, it was said that Tiamat's scales are sharp enough to cut through even Godzilla's hide. Tiamat really is an awesome looking Titan. I hope we see more of her.

Looks like a Chinese dragon.

RodanMember1580 XPJun-10-2021 8:40 AM

Could Tiamat fight Mothra in a Mothra movie?

Head/Face in some of those pics looks exactly like Mitzusune from Monster Hunter. Looks great though.
