The Seibuen Amusement Park, which closed as the coronavirus swept Japan, recently announced its grand reopening for May 19th. In addition to the park being reopened, it announced the latest Godzilla attraction,"Godzilla the Ride: Climactic Giant Monster Battle". (Or "Giant Monster Battle Summit".)

"Guests are thrown in the midst of fierce battles between Godzilla and King Ghidorah, and the thrills of sudden attacks can be enjoyed with a transcendental excitement," reports Yahoo! Japan.

Two time Japanese Academy Award winning director Takashi Yamazaki (Always: Sunset on Third Street, Returner, Space Battleship Yamato) takes charge of the ride's visuals. He is partnered with Shoichiro Tsuno of Sword Creative Team, a company known for engineering theme park rides.

A self proclaimed Godzilla fan, Yamazaki gave Godzilla a cameo during a dream sequence in Always: Sunset on Third Street 2. (Pictured below)

The key visual seems to indicate the first time a major attraction will feature Legendary's Godzilla. Although it's interesting to note, Seibuen's interpretation of the design looks more like... well... Godzilla.

Toho's current flagship design for the Monster King, from Shin Godzilla, has recently been featured in two Universal Studios attractions. ("Godzilla: The Real 4D" and "Godzilla vs. Evangelion".) Nijigen no Mori Theme Park on Awaji Island also features the "Godzilla Interception Operation Awaji" zipline attraction. Seibuen Amusement Park will be the third theme park to feature major Godzilla entertainment in the last five years.

The ride opens soon.

This actually sounds like an interesting Goji Ride

The big news here is Takashi Yamazaki. I've been screaming at the cosmos for him to direct a Godzilla movie for years. Before the director(s) of Shin Godzilla was announced, I was rooting for him to be in the director's chair.

I hope this leads to him helming a real Godzilla feature.

GiganMember2522 XPApr-12-2021 11:37 PM

That would be good

dude omg japan always gets the cool G ****. I really am optimistic if America got Godzilla rides or such it'd succeed but I'm sure its about the rights from Toho unfortunately. Also can we bring up Godzilla's design?? If SHMA made this figure I would literally CRY. A mix of MonsterverseGoji and 2003Goji... :,) I cri

I'm digging the Legendary / Toho Godzilla design mash-up! The news of Takashi Yamazaki being brought on board is very exciting, with Toho's planned new Godzilla cinematic universe, I'm sure he might get a chance to direct a feature length Godzilla film. I'm very excited to see where Toho takes the franchise next.

I can't wait to see how this ride turns out....

...and sadly never ride it...

GiganMember2771 XPApr-13-2021 8:58 AM

Looks like Legendary Godzilla did a fusion dance with Heisei Godzilla

Also, they need to incorporate the Legendary roar this time...

GiganMember2771 XPApr-13-2021 10:32 AM

For sure

Nah. Keep the real roar. Legendary's is okay, but never fit even its own design. Even 1998 got closer to it.

I want the 1954 roars. They’re the best. They sound unnatural and low. As much as I love the Showa, the high and screechy roars are not my favorite

Indeed. They really perfected the guttural, bassy roar in the 80s as well. I was always disappointed the changed it in 1992.

GMK could've really benefited from that roar and Legendary's as well. They just look too big for such high pitched roars. It was nice when Godzilla popped a few of the real roars out in the King of the Monsters though.

It was never confirmed there wasn't some sort of motion control involved though. Afterall, why get a movie director involved?

BaragonMember489 XPApr-13-2021 2:27 PM

well I severly dought your just going to sit still on the ride
