Mothra LarvaeMember54 XPOct-20-2013 4:04 PMI am hoping that they keep making Godzilla movies. I don't know about the CGI thing though because I do remember a rumor that TOHO wanted legendary to use at least some suit acting in the new movie.

Mothra LarvaeMember0 XPOct-20-2013 5:14 PMI don't think there's any suit acting at all. Toho really only had a say in the design of Godzilla, and that's only because Gareth Edwards wanted to make a very reminiscent "classic" Godzilla design, which they did NOT have to do at all. Using CGI creates a permanent model that can be used, and modified a lot, a suit rots away after a while and can only be modified to an extent. It's more "practical" to use CGI than to suit act.
Now, I'm not saying that I hate suit acting. Hell to the no. I just don't think it's very wise to do that when you have today's CGI technology and 3D animation tools (Blender being a personal favorite of mine, even if I'm not adequate in 3D design). You lose a "real" copy, the suit, in favor of a more permanent digital copy that survives all of eternity.. Well, until the sun goes supernova and destroys Earth in its entirety in a several billion years.

BaragonMember425 XPOct-20-2013 7:17 PMI expect toho to get the rights back after Legendary's done and use that as a catapult to be able to show some of their next Godzilla movies in theaters overseas.
If these do successful then Godzilla would be more mainstream allowing toho to be able to send their movies to theaters rather than strait to dvd as they have been for the last few entries, similar to how Godzilla 2000 came to theaters after the 98 American version came out.

Mothra LarvaeMember0 XPOct-21-2013 3:12 AMI wouldnt count new japanese Godzilla movies out done in suits. TOHO has "killed" of the character and to everyones suprise returned him. No one had expected Godzilla 2000, right? He could easily return.

Mothra LarvaeMember0 XPOct-21-2013 3:19 AMWith the technology we have now in film & post production. I'm pretty sure Toho would also bring back MechaGodzilla. Can you imagine that ? it would be awesome.

Mothra LarvaeMember40 XPOct-21-2013 9:46 PMI would like to see a few animes, spin offs, movies, and some crossover with Pacific Rim, Cloverfield and Cthulhu.

Mothra LarvaeMember0 XPOct-22-2013 10:47 AMDepending on how the American Godzilla does this time around, will in effect Godzilla's future. As I have told some Godzilla fans at work, I expect the movie to do as well here like Pacific Rim did if not slightly better due to the name, but really take off in countries like Japan. If things tank with this new movie, then we are liable to see another round of movies made by TOHO like they did when the Tri-Star Godzilla crashed and burned.
If Toho starts making Godzilla movies again I personally would love to see a movie in which we have a worthy Godzilla vs Godzilla, Japanese vs American. I would not want them to use any of the following monsters because they have been over used: Mothra, King Ghidorah, Mecha-Godzilla, Rodan, Angilas (who is my second favorite), Gigan who is on the verge of being over used. I would like to see TOHO use some of the lesser used monsters like Ebirah, Hedorah, Varan, maybe see Space-Godzilla and Destoroyah return, and finally bring Bagan to life. I at least would like to see another long running series like the Showa where the lesser monsters are used, and if Mechas have to be used, have them in the very last movie. I mean there is what, including Mechani-Kong in King Kong Escapes, 8 movies in which Kaiju fight mecha and now there is Pacific Rim and Pacific Rim 2 in the works. I dont want to see another Mecha for a good while.
As for the suit comments, I am praying that they use a suit for this movie, I will be slightly disappointed if they didnt, but I realize that the suit-actor era has pretty much ended with Godzilla Final Wars and Gamera the Brave. Like Gojira signified the end of Stop-motion, so did the Tri-Star Godzilla signify the beginning of the end of suit acting which, barely used a suit in the movie (like when Zilla comes through the pavement for the first fish-bait trap and a couple other scemes) and culminated with King Kong, Dragon Wars, and Cloverfield. Its just alot cheaper to use CG. Whether TOHO themselves use CG when they barely have IMO, will remain to be seen.

Mothra LarvaeMember0 XPOct-22-2013 11:55 PMI hope this film IS Godzilla's future. No more suit movies.

Mothra LarvaeMember0 XPApr-22-2014 3:35 PMIf TOHO finally makes a sequel to Godzilla vs Destroyah, then they should make Godzilla look the same as they did in the other new Godzilla movies and they should probably use some CGI as long as they don't make him look mean if he's supposed to be the good monster that protects earth, and they should make Godzilla and Godzilla Junior be alive in the next movie because if Godzilla died or if Godzilla junior died, then whichever one's still alive is going to be pretty mad at the humans ifit sees the other one dead.

The next TOHO Godzilla movie should have Godzilla and godzilla junior in it if they make another Godzilla movie and they should make another good monster like Gorosaurus be helping them defeat the evil monster.Plus they should have Mothra come back from getting rid of the meteor that was going to destroy earth in 1999.

Mothra LarvaeMember0 XPApr-29-2014 3:40 AM@ Guyvantic Gojira (54) in no way signified the end of stop-motion animation. Google Ray Harryhausen's work and you'll see some of the best the medium had to offer came after Gojira. In regards to suitimation at Toho, if the bit of news that the pool at the studio was demolished is true, then I believe it to be well and truly over. They used a completely CG Godzilla in Always 2 probably as a proof of concept and the results were pretty good.

Mothra LarvaeMember0 XPMay-15-2014 1:22 PMI have a younger brother named Jonathan that likes Godzilla too and he says that Godzilla
and Godzilla Junior have to be in the next toho Godzilla movie and they shold have a
helper one like Gorosaurus and Miki saegusa in it.

Mothra LarvaeMember0 XPJun-09-2014 5:58 PMMy younger brother also says that Litle Godzilla has to be in the next Godzilla movie
and he saves Godzilla from the evil monster.

GodzillaAdmin5112 XPJun-09-2014 6:14 PMTeam GhidorahI think fans of the Heisei series needs to come to grips that elements from those movies (Godzilla Junior, Miki, G-Force...etc...) are done, over and never coming back. When Godzilla does return to Toho's soundstages it will be with entirely different elements and ideas.

Mothra LarvaeMember0 XPJul-15-2014 4:21 PMMiki Saegusa should remember that Baby Godzilla gets a huge intake of energy whenever he hears the plant's song and have someone sing it so Godzilla Jr can get back to life in the next TOHO Gojira movie, and they should make it so that Godzilla was the one that came back to life in the end of Gojira vs Desutoroia. Plus Miki should keep her telekenesis and Mothra should come back in the next TOHO Gojira movie.
