My point here is that the showa gigantic had great intelligence and weaponry that challenged Godzilla while 2004 brought more weapons and an upgraded design..but he lacked the showa gigans intelligence and even killed himself

Hands down too 2004 Gigan looks cooler and more serious then the old one

But he cut his own head off...I like the old one because his intelligence made him deadly...not his bulk look or armory but I see what you mean

I'm apparently the only one who likes the 70s Gigan over the 2004 one

never was a fan of gigan. did not like the robotic cyclops lizard chicken look. he was too comical for my tastes.

To my understanding(This was never clarified in the actual movie but various site speculate this) 2004 Gigan didn't cut his own head off. Mothra's scales caused the saws to boomarang back cutting his head off so he's not quite as stupid as that.

That being said I'd still say the the 70's version IF he had the laser included in his original design but never seen on camera. The 70's 1 was just more brutal actually willing to use his saw and hooks as weapons rather than just waving them around waiting for Godzilla to blow him up.
