MemberMothra LarvaeMar-29-2014 8:50 AMI some times get embarrassed at school when I mention that I LOVE Godzilla, for example when I did a school project on a Godzilla model I kinda felt embarrassed, so should I be embarrassed?

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-29-2014 9:13 AMNot at all! You should never be ashamed of your interests and who you are. What you like makes YOU happy, and that's all that matters.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-29-2014 9:19 AMYou should never be embarrased for what you like! I love Godzilla too, and I have done many projects about him for school too. Sure there are the jerks who make fun of everyone for liking a certain thing, but don't let them get to you. One of my friends is a brony and another loves cars as much as I love Godzilla, but we never feel embarrased. I'm thinking of bring Godzilla VS Biollante for the bus on the Washington D.C trip with my class.
FOR SCIENCE OF COURSE!

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-29-2014 9:34 AMDude, nerds have all the freedom in the world to like anything they want. Jocks and popular kids stress out over trying to be popular so much, that they leave everything from their childhood behind. If you don't care then life will be more fun. I'm a nerd and I embrace t at school. It made me popular, and I've never been made fun for Godzilla.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-29-2014 9:50 AMu used to be as a kid, but thats becuase godzilla was both not so popular in the uk and was not known very well by the kids born in the 90's. yeah anyone born in the early to mid 90'w or were little kids in the 90's in the uk mostly know only of godzilla 1998

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-29-2014 11:44 AMBig G is the man..Monster. People were quiet about being batman fans and comic book fans and look what Nolan did with the dark knight trilogy. Not just comic book followers were going to watch it everryone was. I feel that this Godzilla movie is going to have that same outcome.

MemberBaragonMar-29-2014 5:17 PMNo. You like what you like. Nothing to be embarrassed about. Stay true to who you are. Besides, I happen to think liking Godzilla is cool.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-29-2014 8:42 PM@Godzilla Kid, If there is one thing I learned from high school, it is embrace who you are, who cares if people make fun of you. It's your thing, even if other people don't understand. People attack what is different....very much like Godzilla haha (bit o' symbolism for ya!) I once thought like you, but then I came to embrace it and not care what people thought. Eventually, people started to actually want to learn about Godzilla after I explained how he isn't just some guy prancing around in a rubber suit....sort of rambling here, but the point is, embrace who you are.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-03-2014 1:28 PMI went ahead and got myself a half-sleeve tattoo of Big G on my right arm. No hiding my fandom nor should there be. Be true to yourself and do what you love. Only way to live.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-03-2014 2:38 PMLets be subjective about this.
Everyone likes something stupid. The average public view of Godzilla or monsters in general is that its silly kids stuff-- the average person is a slimey adult who has tossed aside their childhood as if it were a horrible stage in their lives they'd like to forget.
The average person might make fun of you for liking Godzilla but the average person also will geek out about stupid stuff like sporting events, celeb marriages, or some band they love. A perfect example of how everyone is a geeky nerd about something is this-- go to a sporting event, you're going to see some goofball half naked and painted up there, how is that any cooler than liking giant monsters?
Am I embarrassed for liking Godzilla-- hell no. The moment I shed that fear of what society thinks of about the silly shit I like, the happier I got. Sure people make fun of me for it, but I honestly don't give two shits what people think about me. Its not like I can't pick apart every dumb thing everyone else likes-- I just choose to be the better person and not practice that same sick game with them.
Lord knows we live in a weird era in which being a nerd is considered socially acceptable, when i was in school, liking anything but sports or god was pretty much grounds for getting picked on.
Now its dumb popular to like nerdy stuff like comic books and video games.
