MemberMothra LarvaeMar-29-2014 4:17 PMHe was about to die, but it is supposed after the meltdown he absorbed the radiation from his dad and powered up into a full grow Godzilla-monster. There was the rumor that Toho prepared a Greenish Godzilla suit in order to make a sequel featuring Jr as the new GOdzilla, but the project was droped.

MemberBaragonMar-29-2014 6:53 PMThe Heisei continuity, and Junior's story ended with Godzilla vs Destrotyah in 1995. The character has never returned officially, and the story of the heisei films has never continued. Godzilla: Final Wars simply used stock footage of Junior because it was a great visual to add to the begining of the film, which included footage from every Godzilla continuity. The Final Wars Godzilla is in his own continuity, and this is solidified by the fact that the prologue takes place in 1964, 40 years before the majority of the film's events. Acording to Heisei continuity, Godzilla vs Destoroyah takes place in 1996, 32 years after the Gotengo would have frozen Godzilla in the Arctic. Ergo, they are not the same Godzilla, and do not even belong in the same universe.
The Godzilla in the upcoming film will be a new Godzilla as well that does not represent a previous Godzilla returning from another film. He is a new version of the 1954 Godzilla transported to a modern day setting.
If you want to get into the realm of fan theories, than, even though it was never stated to be such, 1999's Godzilla 2000 COULD be a sequel to Godzilla vs Destoroyah. The time is right, and G2000 and Junior have several similarities, including a green color, a similar height and roar, and a seemingly non-aggressive attitude towards humans. Godzilla 2000 seems to float on its own in the Godzilla universe, and doesn not explicitly attach to any previous film or continuity, but I like to believe that the film depicts an older, further mutated Junior fighting one of his first great battles in defense of the Earth! :)

AdminGodzillaMar-29-2014 11:36 PMNo one knows. I would assume that since he was partially cared for by humans he lived a more peaceful life than his father. Seeing as Japan becomes the most powerful country in 2204, according to Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, it's a safe bet he never attacked Japan or gave it any trouble.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-30-2014 5:16 AMAs others have mentioned, the storyline with Godzilla Junior ends. But I would have loved a few more stories that would have involved the newly tranformed junior become humanity's friend and savior as opposed to humanities pain in the butt. I think it would have brought back the charm of some of the Showa era films, while giving a logical reason(Baby G growing up around humans,) for him wanting to be helpful. I also think this could have ramped up the drama, as we would, as an audience, feel more connected to Godzilla Junior. As he may have become more imperilied, so would we have become more emotionally involved in his struggles. I understand why Toho rebooted in 2000, as a reaction to G98, but I think not continuing the Godzilla Junior storyline was a missed opportunity. Hey Toho, it's not too late! As much as I can't wait for the new movie, I still wouldn't mind seeing dudes in rubber suits battling it out. Just think of the possibilities.....

MemberTitanosaurusMar-30-2014 6:18 AMHe adsorbed the radiation from his father and became the new king of the monsters. I assumed that the Millenium series followed Jr and that his skin wasn't green because he matured and it became charcoal black/grey. It would be interesting if there was a series following Jr as the new king.
