MemberMothra LarvaeApr-29-2014 6:57 AMWell i recently got a vhs/dvd player/converter, and I was so Happy because most of the Showa Godzilla movies i didnt have on dvd, i had on vhs, some of the movies are: Godzilla vs. Gigan, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla 1974, DESTROY ALL MONSTERS, Son of Godzilla and a few more. And i was so happy because i was now going to be able to watch my favorite Showa DESTROY ALL MONSTERS And then i Wondered if this is anybody elses favorite, the reason its my favorite Showa is because of course all the Kaiju that are in it, But i wanna know does anybody love this movie as much as i do........P.S. I finally have all the Godzilla movies on DVD!!!!

But no. Destroy All Monsters isn't even close to my favorite Showa movie. I enjoy your passion for it though.

MemberBaragonApr-29-2014 11:05 AMIn context of just showa movies Destroy All Monsters is pretty middle of the pack for me. It's not as good as some of the earlier entries, but much better than most of the ones that came after it.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-29-2014 11:28 AMAtcually, it's my third favorite. My first is Terror of Mechagodzilla, and the second is Godzilla, King of the Monsters. Terror of Mechagodzilla had good fights, intriguing story with the humans, and it was an all-around fun movie.

MemberBaragonApr-29-2014 8:18 PMMy personal favorite Showa era flick was actually the 1956 Raymond Burr addition. Blasphemy? Well it was the movie that introduce me to Godzilla, and unpopular as it sounds, as "Americanized" movies go, they didn't do too bad a job of it.
But otherwise my favorites are the 1954 original and Godzilla vs King Kong.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-30-2014 6:44 AMyea TERROR is a great movie especially because its the last Showa, But if i had to pick one of the Mechagodzilla Movies it would be Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla(1974), just because i like the music in it and King Caesar is Cool:)
