Why are you a Godzilla fan?

Hello everyone! Akio here and hope you're all ok. I loved the new movie and cant wait for the sequel! Anyway-

  For me Godzilla is...well to put it simple, a character. A character who has withstood 60 years while having different incarnations along the way. In both appearance and motive. The motive is the important part. These multiple incarnations allow fans like you and I to to have our personal interpretation of him. Fans may love him for his directed "Evil" or revenge on mankind, others may love him for his heroic intensions, and another group may love him for his chaotic force of nature. Yet the list goes on. Godzilla is more than just a monster. He wasn't the first giant monster to hit cinemas, OR the second. Yet, we see him again, with a modern franchise being put together. From campy to serious, sad to cheerful, our large atomic beathing giant holds what most monsters(Even those from Cloverfield and Pacific Rim) dont...Character!

Anyway I want to know why YOU as a fan love Godzilla ! :)

Watched it as a kid, my first movie was King Kong vs Godzilla, hooked ever since.

I guess I loved and still continue to love Godzilla because it seems that there's a movie that I can enjoy through every step of my life. As a young child I could enjoy the late showa movies for their cheesyness and fun, but later on I could move on to the movies who have less action and are more story based.

well at first when i saw the heisei fims, i whasn't to into him because he whas somewhat an antihero, but when i saw the milenium and showa films i fel in love with the destructive villanus godzilla

Well when Zilla introduces me to Godzilla. I thought Godzilla was cool but weird at first. My first Godzilla movie was Zilla. My first movie with Godzilla in it was Godzilla 2000

I started watching godzilla at around 5 years old.and my first godzilla movie was Godzilla 2000 and i was so facinated on how a monster can really be so awesome and how he saves and sorta protects the humans.So i was hooked from thier. and because i loved how he looked,how he sounded and how he fighted with orga.so yeah. :)

For me it all started with my Mom and Dad. They didn't want me watching Barney the purple dinosaur growing up, so I ended up finding Godzilla on Sci-fi one afternoon and I've been hooked ever since. I didn't have a lot of friends growing up and it always felt like Godzilla could protect me from anything, he was the ultimate friend. Plus what's not to like about a giant radioactive fire breathing monster that is pretty much invincible?

ive been a godzilla fan since i was 5 my first movie i watched was godzila vs megalon and from then on ive been hooked i was extremly exicted when i saw the new movie and im even more excited for the sequel in 2018 =)

Godzilla has been my super hero since 1993, when i first watched him on channel TNT which is 15 on cable TV back in the early 90's.

Since then i have bought movies on vhs, picked up comic books, toys, collectibles. etc.

Not to mention i have been doing artwork on godzilla for the past 14 years.

Well for one thing, as far back as I remember I've always loved and had an obssessive interest in dinosaurs. Just the fact that there is a 300 foot tall giant dinosaur that shoots an atomic breath beam is just simply awesome! I've always loved to see Godzilla destroying buildings and fighting other monster when I was really young. I just think Godzilla is an amazing and interesting concept, so yeah that's why I'm a fan :)
