GODZILLA:THE DESTROYER OF WORLDS
MemberMothra LarvaeNov-10-2014 10:13 PMAt the local toys r us store in my area I was browsing the godzilla and kaiju toys, I heard one parent a father reconize one of the 2014 figures and say to his boy "you wouldn't like the movie." A teennager comes around sees 2 figures
1. Knifehead which he reconized
2. King Ghigorah, which he didn't reconized
Besides that the point is if you have a kid or children what Godzilla movie would you allow for there first experience and would the 2014 movie be it?

MemberBaragonNov-10-2014 10:23 PMIf I had a kid and I was introducing them to Godzilla I'd probably pick a showa movie. Godzilla vs King Kong comes to mind as a front runner.

AdminGodzillaNov-11-2014 8:59 AMA Showa movie, easily. King Kong vs. Godzilla sounds like a fun one, but Ghidorah: The Three Headed Monster, Godzilla vs. Gigan and Godzilla vs. Megalon would all be top picks as well.

The King of the Monsters
MemberMothra LarvaeNov-11-2014 9:45 AMIt depends on the age. For really young children I might hesitate to show them Godzilla vs. Gigan for all of the really bloody scenes. I'd probably go with King Kong vs. Godzilla, Destroy All Monsters, or Son of Godzilla. Even All Monsters Attack might not be a bad first film to show them since it was made for children and features what is essentially a greatest hits reel of Godzilla's battles from previous films.

MemberMothra LarvaeNov-11-2014 10:36 AM@The King of the Monsters -Destroy all Monsters has this pesky scene where this guy gets shot in the head. Unfortunately, I didn't remeber this when I showed it to my son when he was four. Oops....
Anyway, he loved All Monsters Attack. It may be weird for us, but for a kid, I think it makes a nice introduction to Godzilla. My Son also loved Godzilla Vs. Space Godzilla, and Godzilla Vs. Destroyah. Although it took a while for him to watch the meltdown(when I finally started to let him watch it,) without crying. I think there is much to offer from the Heisi series. Lots of action, falshy effects, and I can't think offhand of anything bloody.
He loves G14, but I gotta fast forward to the fighting. So really, he only likes about ten minutes of it.

AdminGodzillaNov-11-2014 4:26 PMAll Monsters Attack is a great movie to introduce and a solid family movie. Son of Godzilla would be a great one as well.
Destroy All Monsters has more than a few violent moments to it. The earring scene in particular scarred my younger sister for awhile.
