Hey guys, it's been a while. What do you guys think is the least original monster? I think Kumoga is because he/she's a giant spider!

MONSTERMOVIEGUY - This is a fun topic! Hmm...least original monster? I would have to say that, in my opinion, the giant condor is the least original of the lost! Thank you for presenting this fun question, and welcome back! :)

To one extent or another I find most Japanese monsters to be original in the way they're designed and portrayed. For example, Ebirah had two different claws, one for stabbing and the other for attacking. Kamacuras had two different arms for battle action. The Giant Condor is even a necessary element that shows how bad the radiation is on the island. There really aren't any monsters I don't like from the Godzilla series. And I applaud the originality injected into would-be bland monsters.

I agree with Gman, every monster has something original to them, something new to bring to the table.  I've never really seen how Muto's are "copies" of Cloverfield, and I thing their design, powers, and sounds are pretty original.

Huh, I was trying to think of any monster I felt was unoriginal, but every time I think of one, I remember the things that make them unique and interesting.  Go figure.

I dont see how the MUTO'S are a bland creature, and its not my Bias xD.

I don't personally see any bland Godzilla creatures, boring creatures? Of course the Giant Condor, even though he was badass.

Good grief.

I would say that monsters like Ebirah, Kumonga, and Kamacuras are the most unoriginal, yet as Gman said, they each have traits that make them somewhat unique and original and more than just generic giant animals. Ebirah has the two different-sized claws, Kamacuras has the two different arms, and Kumonga spits webs from its mouth. Toho applies characteristics to all of its monsters to make them unique and original, even if their basic concept isn't original.

I suppose Zilla isn't very original, as he was just the product of Roland Emmerich deciding to make a Jurassic Park velociraptor kaiju-sized. But still, the characteristics of a swift cunning elusive predator had not yet really been applied to a kaiju, so in a sense Zilla is still original and unique among kaiju, despite being a blatant capitalization on Jurassic Park.

Kumonga, Kamacuras, and the Giant Condor come to mind when I think of bland/boring Godzilla monsters.

Again, I don't see what is so unoriginal about the M.U.T.O.s. Uf anything, they're the amalgamation of many kaiju's traits, like Gyaos, Gigan, Orga, and some others. I see absolutely no similarities between them and Clover, aside from the fact they have multiple limbs, but they don't even have the same number of limbs as Clover. On a list of the top 10 least original kaiju, I wouldn't rank the M.U.T.O.s on it.
