New York City…
Madelyn Enden sits with her 4 year old child and her husband in the seats next to her as they ride the ferry to Liberty Island. It’s 4th of July, so they decided to take a day off from their jobs to meet with some friends on Liberty Island for a picnic, and of course to visit the Statue of Liberty. “Hey Max, look over there!” says Madelyn’s husband, Taylor. “Dolphins!!!” Screams out Max, their four year old son. “Or maybe they’re sharks,” says Madelyn, grinning while she reads the pamphlet the crew handed out, “I mean, some Hammerhead Sharks do school together.” Max begins to shrink a little and begins to cry. “Stop, he’s four. You’re scaring him. Plus, those can’t be sharks. Hammerheads don’t breach like dolphins, and also… those dolphins don’t have hammerheads… Isn’t that right Max?” “Yeah, they have… have… tractor heads!” replies Max. “TRACTOR HEADS?!!! YEAH THEY DO HAHAHA!!!!” Says Taylor in an extremely exaggerated manner. “Well, even if they aren’t sharks, I do like that we have the time off. But still, why does everyone like dolphins so much? They’re cute, yeah, but they aren’t as cute as a great white, but about as vicious!” “Maddie-” “Why are you booing me? I’m right!” Taylor laughs and Max says, “What? What did she say? Daddy, what was so funny?” Madelyn and Taylor, have very few days off, so they rarely get to have time off like this. They both work at the same place and sit almost right next to each other, but the job is so time consuming that it seems that they never actually see each other, or little Max. There really never is much to do at the job besides relaying data and information to other locations, but that’s not even the purpose of her job! Regardless, they can enjoy their time off here for the rest of 1 second. “OH MY GOD!!!!!!” Yells many of Madelyn’s fellow passengers as they stare out towards the ocean. Madelyn runs out to the starboard side and sees something she had hoped to never see. Rows of spikes emerging from the water as a gigantic creature swims towards the boat. “I can’t believe it… Godzilla… never thought I’d see him. But what’s he doing out here?!!!” says Taylor. “That’s not Godzilla… the dorsal plates are all wrong, I have no idea what that thing is.” Says Madelyn. The creature gets closer and closer, and the boat still isn’t moving. “ATTENTION ATTENTION!!!!! THE BOAT’S PROPELLER HAS STOPPED REPORTING!!!!! BRACE FOR IMPACT, I REPEAT, BRACE FOR IMPACT!!!!!!!!!” Oh shit! “WAIT, WHERE’S MAX?!!!!” Taylor yells. They both whirl around to see Max at the opposite side of the rails, staring at the creature and crying. “Mommy?!!!!! Mommy?!!!!” Madelyn and Taylor run to try and get him before the creature gets to the boat. “Mo-” The giganic creature swims practically through the boat, its dorsal spines dragging the boat with it very quickly. Max begins to fall off, but Madelyn catches his arm in time and tries to pull him back into the safety of the boat. However, annoyed by the disturbance of the boat, the Kaiju rolls over in the water, practically throwing the boat a good distance away and capsizing it. Madelyn can’t hold onto Max and he goes flying off in some random direction. Madelyn doesn’t have time to process what just happened before the boat finally lands, with her stuck underneath. She looks around and sees all the other passengers beginning to swim out from underneath the rapidly sinking boat. She tries to swim out, but she feels a sharp pain in her leg. She looks back and sees that somehow her leg got caught in the rail in the chaos. She keeps trying to pull it out, but it won’t budge and ths ship is still sinking. She starts to turn her leg and try to jostle it around with her arms while pushing off. Eventually, she finally gets her leg out and swims out from underneath the boat. She looks around and finds Taylor. “Madison! Oh my god you’re alive. I thought you were-” Before Taylor can even finish saying how grateful he is that she’s alive, Madison desperately yells, “WHERE’S MAX?!!!!” “I DON’T KNOW!!!! WE HAVE TO GO FIND HIM!!!!” He yells out, terrified of what could have happened to his son. The two split up, and search. Madelyn swims as fast as she can towards where she thinks she lost Max, but there’s no sign of him anywhere. “MAX!!!!!!!! MAX WHERE ARE YOU?!!!!!!! FOLLOW THE SOUND OF MOMMY’S VOICE!!!!!!!” Madelyn desperately searches for him, but she can’t find him. Taylor searches around the wreckage as fast as he can, not even processing the chaos around him; he has only one goal in his mind. To find his son. He swims faster than he ever has before, but he can’t find Max anywhere. Then he feels something, some sort of need to go exactly 50 meters to his right, as if he knows exactly where Max. Taylor goes with his instinct and swims as fast as he can. There’s no time to waste; every second he’s swimming is another second that could have saved Max. Taylor finally reaches a large chunk of the boat that split off from the collision. However, now he feels an intense feeling of dread, as if though he’s already too late. He dives underneath and sees Max floating lifelessly, with a cloud of blood around him. He drags Max up to the surface and puts him on top of the rubble so they can both get out of the water. Taylor climbs up and without even checking he can already tell Max isn’t breathing. He frantically feels for a pulse. There’s a pulse, it’s incredibly faint, but it’s definitely there. “MADELYN!!!!!!! HE’S OVER HERE!!!!!!!!” Taylor begins to perform CPR on him, but he’s not entirely sure how to do it and is not making any progress. Madelyn gets there in incredible time, and practically shoves Taylor into the water and begins doing it herself. She tries desperately to bring him back. Finally, after what seems like an eternity of this torture, Max finally spits up the water and begins to cough. “MAX!!!!! It’s ok baby, mommy’s here!!!!” Taylor swims closer and begins to caress Max’s head and tries to comfort him. “Mommy… it hurts so much… it hurts so much…” Max says weakly. As Taylor caresses his head, he notices there’s a substantial amount of blood on his hand and one the piece of rubble around him. He quickly but carefully lifts up Max’s head and to his horror, his head is broken open and there’s gaping wounds all along his body from the rubble he smashed into. “Oh no… Oh no baby… It’ll be ok Max, don’t worry. Daddy’s gotcha.” Taylor frantically tries to stop the bleeding with pressure and his clothing, but Max has already lost so much blood. “Mommy… Daddy… please it hurts so much… please make it stop…” “It’s ok Max, we’re going to get you to a doctor and they’re going to stitch you up really good! You’ll see!” Madelyn holds onto Max’s arm as if though letting go would kill him. Max stares up at his mother and father and tries to say something, but instead of words, what comes out is only blood. Lots and lots of blood. “BABY!!!! BABY IT’LL BE-” Madelyn tries to lift him up so that he doesn’t choke on his own blood, but there’s no point now. He stops coughing and goes limp. “MAX!!!!! MAX!!!!!!!!!!” The pair try to find a pulse, but there isn’t even one to find. They just lost what meant the most to them in the entire world. “MAX!!!!!!!!!” The two cry out in pain. They both hug their son and begin to sob...
The two stay like this for what feels like an eternity. Madelyn opens her eyes for only a second to clear them as she sobs, but all this brings her is the sight of another horror. She stares out in shock as she watches the massacre unfold. Most of the passengers grouped up around the few life rafts available. They’re fighting tooth and nail for the spots, some pushing children into the water. However, none of them notice the dark shadow beneath them. The creature shoots through the water, breaching out of the water with its iguana-like jaws open as wide as possible. It swallows almost the entire group of survivors there. Some of the people are probably still alive inside it. Eventually, gravity reclaims the incredible creature and brings it back down to the water, creating enormous waves that drown any of the remaining people who were around the life rafts. The creature submerges partially, with only its dorsal plates staying above water. It seems to be heading out to sea, but then it turns on a dime and starts swimming towards Madelyn and Taylor. The two only stare as the giant monster heads towards them. It swims incredibly fast, impossibly quick for such a giant creature. There’s no possible way for Madelyn and Taylor to outswim it. Suddenly, it dives beneath them and keeps heading past them. Taylor turns to see where it’s heading and only stares in horror, realizing where it’s going. “Dear God…” Madelyn turns to see where it’s heading and comes to the same horrid realization as Taylor. “Oh god! Please no!” The two simply stare, unable to do anything, as the monster heads straight towards the city so damned they had to name it twice…
If people weren't lazy, we wouldn't try to be efficient. If we weren't efficient, we'd never get anything done.

MemberTitanosaurusSep-25-2019 8:57 AMThis was awesome. Can't wait for the next chapter.
Also, yay. You allowed a kid to die, and in full view. More movies need to do that now, instead of either letting the kid survive, or kill the kid offscreen. That just infuriates me. Very glad you did the realistic option.

Wow, thanks man! That meant a lot to me. Though that death is kinda going to play a part in the whole story, I mean, the main character is the child's mother...

So do I... So do we all... But if you want a kid to die in a Godzilla movie, I woulda chose the one from that movie where the kid is on Monster Island with Minilla, Godzilla, and Gabara (sorry, forgot the name. Been a few years!)... or just Minilla himself...

MemberRodanSep-25-2019 10:40 AMForgot to mention, Zilla has the atomic breath of Zilla Junior, because they're the same species and Cyber-Zilla had it too. Also, I'm using Legendary Rodan. Future confusion averted!

MemberTitanosaurusSep-25-2019 10:43 AM@TheLazyFish Honestly, the kid from All Monsters Attack/Godzilla's Revenge (That's the name of the movie, by the way. You're welcome for that.) is much more annoying than the one in Godzilla vs. Megalon.
But don't even get me started on the one from Gamera (1965), or the kids from the first Rebirth of Mothra movie.

MemberGiganSep-25-2019 10:49 AMah well my Zilla jr. (Blue) the reason why she has the atomic fire breath and not her parents or even grandparents is because she is a mutant

Well, shit... my story's made a good impression with you then, hasn't it! XD jk lol
But trust me, eventually you're going to see a movie with a kid so annoying you'll want every kid in every movie to die...
