Mothra just seems, well, kinda there, and Godzilla does shit he's not supposed to do. (Well, this WAS going to be a kong movie)

MemberTitanosaurusNov-02-2019 12:43 PMThe obvious is obvious, but "Godzilla's revenge". Well, the half that isn't just reused footage at least. The reused footage is also bad, but that's more a problem with the movie the footage originally came from and not necessarily "Godzilla's revenge".
Long live the king...

MemberBaragonNov-02-2019 1:03 PMGodzilla vs Hedorah. A gang of probably some of the most forgettable characters possible on top of a godzilla movie that shoves its message so far up your throat that if you happened to forget it you'd likely remember by the 5th time they play that awful song about the sun.

Ganimes V.8
MemberBaragonNov-02-2019 1:04 PMBut still,Godzilla Vs. Destoroyah is the worst movie in my opinion.

Michael Monachino
MemberMothra LarvaeNov-02-2019 4:21 PMShin Godzilla. When Godzilla is on screen, it's ok. But to me he's only in the movie for about 10% of the entire movie. There was absolutely no emotion when it came to the characters. I get what the film was trying to do, But it failed horribly. His first forms were just stupid and silly looking. But I'll say this, this movie is a blast to just rant about. Example: the scene where we get to see Godzilla's 4th form for the first time. At first, absolutely nothing is happening. But then a random guy just bursts through the door saying that Godzilla has appeared, then immediately cuts to Godzilla with his tiny little baby arms. No build up, just showing this "Godzilla" with his theme playing. That always makes me laugh. Godzilla has no personality. This movie is like The Room to me, except instead of it being so bad it's good, it's so bad it's awful. So yeah, Shin Godzilla is my least favorite Godzilla movie of all time.

MemberTitanosaurusNov-02-2019 4:58 PMGodzilla vs. Megaguirus. Somehow I cannot seem to watch the film through one viewing without pausing and taking breaks from it multiple times.

TheLazyFish
MemberRodanNov-02-2019 8:28 PMRevenge Of Godzilla. The reused footage was the BEST HALF of the film. The plot was... UGH. A kid having a dream of a talking stupid looking baby Godzilla getting bullied by a weird looking ogre. And then the kid wakes up and beats up his bullies. Seriously, MINILLA WHAT THE FU-

AdminGodzillaNov-02-2019 9:49 PMGodzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla, by far: Useless subplots and introduced story lines that go nowhere, add nothing or simply give the characters busy work that don't effect the end result in any way, shape or form. Akira Emoto is completely wasted on a revenge story that ends with the most baffling resolution for no reason. The effects are some of the worst in the Heisei series despite having one of the largest budgets for a Japanese film at the time. And Kashiwabara, anxious to find some sort of relevance in the story, makes up some asinine space pollution theme that doesn't even exist in the real world. And why was Miki in this movie again?
Godzilla x Megaguirus, Godzilla: Final Wars, Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II, Godzilla vs. Megalon and Godzilla: King of the Monsters aren't far behind.

MemberAnguirusNov-03-2019 7:10 AMWell, I guess the human parts in Shin is for conveying the message they were going for.
Still, there are lots of human parts. I still like Shin tho oof ;-;

Xenotaris
MemberGiganNov-03-2019 5:56 PMwell Godzilla 2014 did give us more kaiju action than Shin Godzilla, so it wasn't too much humans just not enough Godzilla since the MUTOs were the staring Villans

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaNov-03-2019 6:13 PMGodzilla is on screen in Godzilla '14 for an estimated 10:00, which is 8.3% of the film.
Godzilla is on screen in Shin Godzilla for an estimated 17:30, which is 15% of the film.
Both MUTOs share an estimated 8:30 of screen time. (I'm being generous. I may have added anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute on that.)
4:20 of the MUTOs (rounded up) is shared with Godzilla. Meaning there is a rounded 14:10 minutes of overall kaiju action in Godzilla '14 which amounts to roughly 11.6% of the film.

Gomi: Ninja Monster
MemberBaragonNov-03-2019 6:49 PMKaiju action is the key word there. I love Shin, but he does kinda just stand or slowly walk for a good portion of that screen time.

Gomi: Ninja Monster
MemberBaragonNov-03-2019 8:14 PMOh I absolutely agree, when Shin starts doing something he does it good, but I don't think saying he acts like a statue quite a bit negates my overall love of the movie. It's still my co-favorite with Final Wars.

I still have to finish watching Godzilla 2000, Godzilla vs Megaguirus, GMK, Godzilla against Mechagodzilla, Tokyo SOS, and Godzilla Final Wars before I want to jump to Shin Godzilla and the anime trilogy

AdminGodzillaNov-04-2019 4:05 PMXenotaris,
Hold on... Your least favorite Godzilla movie is a film you haven't even watched? You're just basing it on a few clips and what other people have said about it?
But naturally it's okay to ignore critic reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and make up your own mine. Gotchya.

MemberGiganNov-04-2019 10:38 PMG. H. (Gman) Shin Godzilla is my second least favorite godzilla movie.
My least favorite Godzilla movie is Godzilla vs King Ghidorah. Reasons:
1. Anti-Western themes (I don't care if its a japanese movie), I am fine with the pro-enviromentalism message, anti-nuclear weapons message, or telling fictional countries to cease fire and make peace that's been a staple of Godzilla movies. I just didn't like they painted the west/americans as the big bad guys in the futurians future because of japan's fear of being successful, its been five years since I last watched the movie.
2. Cringy jab at Steven Spielberg, I don't know why they did this but having Spielberg's dad I guess being in the military during WWII with a psychic commanding officer was very dumb. HE CAN SEE THE FUTURE, he foresaw his subordinate's son making a dinosaur movie.
3. Time travel plot that doesn't make sense. They the futurians went back in time to stop godzilla from destroying the world but then revelled that Godzilla wasn't responsible for the reason why the future was horrible then they moved the godzillasaurus to a different location and then release the dorats on purpose to fill the Godzillasaurus's spot then the nuclear bombs drop. Godzillasaurus still mutates into Godzilla and now the three dorats become King Ghidorah then he gets killed (I forget how) then they bring back Mecha-Ghidorah to fight Godzilla.
4. That Cringey android dude, It was very weird and awkward to watch.
5. I dislike the Futurians, (look at #3)
6. I dislike Mecha-Ghidorah's design, like why? Why does he have two organic heads and organic feet? Why not just make the rest of him mechanical like Mechagodzilla?

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaNov-04-2019 11:03 PMOh so your second least favorite Godzilla movie is one you haven't seen. Well that's a lot better.
