15 years ago today Godzilla: Final Wars was released to commemorate the franchise's 50th anniversary.
Read about how the Millennium Series finale came together, how it was made and the legacy it left:
Before Shin Godzilla - Retrospect of the Last Era, Part 6: Godzilla: Final Wars

That was beautiful. I actually cried tears of joy from how touching the article was. Well done, sir. That is an extremely splendid article you've made, G.H. (Gman). Well done. :)

Uhh, yeah. Really great post, although, i didn't really like final Wars that much.

I'll be pulling out all my old ones for the anniversaries of several films this month, since there's a new crop of members who don't really know what went in to these films.

Cool.

Yup.

Oh, and I only said okay because I just wanted to. You're not boomers. You're all awesome.

Yeah, me too. You're awesome too.

you're welcs mate(I'm not British nor Australian)

Heh. i hate AZ. We had three tornados in Phoenix, San Tan and Gilbert over Thanksgiving break. the rain was coming down hard and the wind was going hard, too. I thought it was the end of the world, but no, it was just Ghidorah.

Well, it's not much better in CA. Not as many winds, but still a bunch of rain.

Yeah, but it was bad when you guys had all that forest fire.

That was an amazing article! Never knew all that built up to Final Wars, which kinda makes me a little more bitter when I think of the movie, but at least now I can kinda understand what problems lead to the oddity of Final Wars.
If people weren't lazy, we wouldn't try to be efficient. If we weren't efficient, we'd never get anything done.

I didn't read the article, but yeah.

TheLazyFish,
Which is what these articles are largely about--The more people understand the context in which these films were made, the easier it is to appreciate them in some way or another.

Dang. What an article.
Zwei Wing is the best singing duo. Change my mind.

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah! I just farted.

Do you think we needed to know that?
Zwei Wing is the best singing duo. Change my mind.

yes.

Monster_Zero 2112,
You need to remain on topic. You've been posting a lot today and much of it has included spam posts in the meme thread, and random comments about Ariana Grande, calling out the tiniest typos and farts. Those comments have absolutely no relevance to Godzilla or the forum topics you're participating in and did not need to be posted. Either focus on the topics at hand or leave.

Ok. I'm sorry to everyone that had to read my posts. I won't do it again. I promise. We good?

Oh darn, I wish I had seen this yesterday so I could've watched Final Wars in commemoration. Very interesting article, the behind-the-scenes of movies is always fascinating. As usual, I get the complaints leveled against this movie, and I see how this was a disappointing finale, but I can't bring myself to change my opinion of it. It's so unapologetically insane and plain fun to watch that I'll just have to respectfully disagree with the general consensus. It still sits next to Shin as my co-favorite G-flick, each for precisely opposing reasons.

These are great. Thank you.
