Today, in 1995, the fan favorite, Heisei series finale, Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, was released in Japanese theaters. Four years ago I ventured in a two part research excursion to write about the film's background and post-release. Here are the following articles:
Godzilla vs. Destoroyah 20 Years Later-Part I: Making Monsters Meltdown
Godzilla vs. Destoroyah 20 Years Later-Part II: Legacy of a Requiem
Enjoy the look back at the final Heisei film. Happy 24th to the fan favorite.

This was awesome. I do wish that they followed up on what happened to Godzilla Jr. afterward. I know it's wishful thinking, but I hope that's what they're going for in Toho's new World of Godzilla.
(Otherwise, why else would they bring the Heisei design back from obscurity?)

The music that plays as Godzilla dies is one of the few movie-related things in life that legitimately moves me to tears.

Loved this film. Destroyah looks like the devil incarnate.
Zwei Wing is the best singing duo. Change my mind.

This movie is one of the only movies to ever make me almost cry, and I would have if I didn't have someone watching it with me lol
If people weren't lazy, we wouldn't try to be efficient. If we weren't efficient, we'd never get anything done.

Godzilla's death was emotionally wracking for most of us.

And what makes it sadder is that Ifikube would die 10 years after this film was made. Truly a forgotten work of art.

Truly a amazing film. Scared me as a dumb five year old however. In my top 5 favorite Godzilla films

We will NEVER forget the legends that brought Godzilla to life.
