Why Kong will triumph.

MemberBaragonMar-05-2021 6:23 PMNot by his own power however...let me explain.
This might upset some G fans..
Legendary and Warnerbros are both companies, and like most companies they aim to make as much money as possible.
Here's a question, which would be more expensive?
1. Continue to rent out godzilla from toho and likely have to buy other classic monsters. Costing you tens(possibly hundreds) of thousands each year.
Or
2. Have a semi public domain ape, who has the human sympathy on his side and have the ability to independently create totally original monsters(totally free) and maybe having Godzilla show up every once in a while.
I think the answer is obviously 2. And it if for this reason that kong is likely to triumph over Godzilla in the upcoming film.
However, there is a chance that this decision(if they go with it) will decrease their earnings in the future as more people leave the monsterverse due to lack of Godzilla.
But hey, don't let this get you down, we can't predict the future, its a 50/50 chance.
Maybe I'm wrong and we'll have an even mix of Godzilla AND Kong :)
I just wouldn't bet money on it..... :/

AdminGodzillaMar-05-2021 9:01 PMI just think Kong's going to win based on comments from Wingard:
"I see him as not just an animal. He’s the gunfighter without the gunfight. He’s this over-the-hill action hero who is not in a great place in his life. The way I always look at my version of Kong... in Kong: Skull Island, in the ’70s, he’s basically Clint Eastwood in The Good, The Bad And The Ugly. In my version, this is Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven. He’s at the end of his rope. He’s not having a great time. But when action calls, he’s always still ready to step up and take it on!"
"He swings back and forth between being a heel and the good guy. I was really excited that I got to do the first Legendary Godzilla where he’s kind of seen as the heel of the movie. And so by proxy, Kong is going to feel a bit more like the hero. I think that fans of both of them will be able to cheer them on equally. Both are given equal weight in the film, in their own ways."
Definitely sounds like Kong's going to take the win based on his heroic, "Clint Eastwood" character. But yes, also keeping Godzilla is expensive--Which would be fine if it were making more money, but Kong: Skull Island was the most profitable Monsterverse flick.

MemberBaragonMar-06-2021 6:30 AMNot necessarily, Xenotaris, there is still a chance Godzilla will win. :) i just don't think its very likely.

MemberBaragonMar-07-2021 7:57 PMI think King Kong will win because his ancestors have killed zilllas before so why can’t Kong(don’t think he will actually kill Godzilla)? Also, Godzilla has had the limelight of the monsterverse on him for a while now. He was always front and center. Kong really never got much attention aside from his movie and a comic that barely featured him at the very end for like 4 pages total. Godzilla got his crowning moments with King Ghidorah so it’s King Kong’s turn for his. He seems like the main focus anyway.
I think Godzilla will win the first round and then Kong will have to make a comeback and then beat him when he is better equipped. Kong will be the definitive winner and then Mecha G will try to kill a weakened Godzilla making Kong have to save him.

MemberGiganMar-08-2021 10:37 AMAll of you guys are right. But here's my idea based on evidence.
There will be 3 battles between Godzilla and Kong. The first fight will be the aircraft carrier fight. Godzilla is totally going to win that one. The 2nd fight will be in Hong Kong, and I think they will be interrupted by MechaGodzilla, and I think Kong will be KO'd by Mecha G, and Godzilla is almost beaten by Mecha but Kong will wake up at the last second and it will become Kong vs MechaGodzilla and Kong will tear him apart. Then Godzilla will probably issue one last challenge and then the two will battle one last time and then Kong will win. And Godzilla...will fall.
How was that theory?

MemberGiganMar-08-2021 1:03 PMI don't think they would allow WB to kill Gojira permenantly. I think WB will pull a Justice League and bring him back later.

MemberGiganMar-08-2021 3:01 PMlike Godzilla Jr or Monsterverse's second Godzilla?
