AnguirusMember1322 XPApr-12-2022 12:10 PMHonestly (and this might be an unpopular opinion) I always felt that Godzilla Raids Again was one of the lesser films in the series. I feel like it tried too hard to be like the original but didn't really capture the spirit of it. Technically the best thing in it was the fight with Anguirus, but even then it's not one of Godzilla's most memorable battles. It's not bad, just kind of forgettable. The English dub for it is hilariously bad though.

Yeah, the English dub for Raids Again is really bad. The dub keeps calling Godzilla "Gigantis" because apparently they didn't want audiences to confuse him with Godzilla (yes, really). They keep confusing the monsters' names. It has a narrator that describes things that the audience can clearly see (like telling the audience that jets are flying over the city, while the film shows jets flying over the city). The characters are given overly cartoony voices (one of them sounds like Yogi Bear) and half the time they just say random nonsense that isn't even trying to translate the original Japanese lines, such as the infamous "Banana Oil" line:

An annoying thing in the japanese cut, its just long, and cant decide its plot points, and retracks on them.
i liked the characters but they do nothing. LITERALLY NOTHING
