This past April it was announced that Godzilla vs. Kong's Japanese release was delayed indefinitely, due to a rise in COVID cases. It has been rumored that the movie would open in July. Toho made it official today with a July 2nd announcement.
The Japanese poster has been updated to reflect the new release date.
Godzilla vs. Kong has become the highest grossing Hollywood film of the COVID-19 pandemic with $435.9 million worldwide. Domestically, it sits at $98.3 million with hopes of being the first film to break $100 million in the US since early 2020.
Godzilla vs. Kong hits 4K, Blu-ray and DVD June 15th.
